No need to get so defensive when I'm merely stating my opinion. Mind you, does Google not take Freedom to the extreme? I mean, did they not just lose a litigation issue due to not paying for using java in Android?
If you get offensive, I get defensive. Thats how it works ;)

Hmmm... Some people are talking about crashing here as experts. What kind of evidence have you?

The thing is that android had told you if the app crashed, honestly and overtly. But ios doesnt.. App just seems to refresh/reload or you are back in the homescreen thinking that you hit or did the something wrong. But then.. There are lots of data collected (crash logs) for years and ios apps have even crashed more often than their android counterparts. Nowadays they both have crash statistics around couple of procents.

Until you show me something else, i trust these collected crash logs more than your opinions.

It s the endless comparison, devices, apps etc. The bottom line is that they both crashes but the other is usually telling it to the user that it crashed while the other is just hiding the info.

You proclaim to know something yet don't even know Google was found not guilty and Oracle was virtually laughed out of court, why are you offering your opinion on something you don't know anything about?

Incorrect. Google has won on every count against Oracle. But that doesn't stop Oracle from continuing in the appellate courts to get the same crap reheard.

Again, I'm merely stating my opinion. If that makes you uncomfortable then I can't help you.

I'm coming back to iPhone from trying out the Galaxy S7/ S7 Edge. No matter what Android does, iOS still provides a better user experience for me in terms of fluidity and consistency. I love so many things about the Galaxy line-up but in the end I feel better with an iPhone, its hard to explain but it just feels like home.

It's so rare for an app to crash on Android that I can't remember the last time it happened. Seriously.

Hey everyone, sorry if this has been asked before, but here it goes lol.

I am heavily emerged in the Apple Eco system. Between my wife and I we both have the 6 Plus, Each have the new iPad Pro's, Late '15 MacBook Pro, 3 Apple TV's, Apple Watches and to round it out the AirPort Extreme.

Due to the lack luster iPhone 7 coming out, I pre ordered the new Note 7 but as Apple wants us to do lol, I'm starting to stress it and thinking of canceling the pre order.

Have many of you left the iPhone but had everything else Apple and still loved the Android phone? Or did you try it and go back?

I dunno, why not wait a month or so to be sure? You can always get the Note 7 once you have solid information to compare both phones. I am assuming that you can do so and that you don't need a new phone right now. Generally, I wait until after the reviews are all in before placing my order so always sort of an October upgrade for me.

I went ahead and cancelled my pre order for that exact reason, All the rumors point to a boring iPhone 7 BUT if I get the Note 7 on launch day and then September 9th Apple surprises us with something cool, Id kick myself, so Ill order it again on the 9th of the iPhone does disappoint like expected.

I left OS X about five years ago and have no regrets whatsoever. I still use an iPhone but only because work provides me with one. The kids' iPads are nice, but frankly, iOS is not some amazing experience that always works. It doesn't.

That being said, there is really no reason to switch because of the Note. Phones are so fungible these days that I doubt you will really find more than a marginal difference in your day-to-day life if you switched.

I am just so heavily vested is the apple eco system. I use a mac and that alone makes it a hard switch to a different phone. Also, my family/friends all use iPhones. I have tons of shared photo albums and with messages in IOS 10, it makes leaving iMessage that much harder.

If changing a phone had no effect on my eco-system, I would be using the Nexus 5X

I think that's exactly what Apple are depending on for people to not leave. Eco system.

For what worth, me too. I'm all imacs and macbooks, and majority of my co-workers, family and friends are in iPhones.

Yet my daily driver is an Android device. You might miss a few things and have to adjust to alternative apps, but it's very doable. And the benefits reapped more than make up for it in my opinion.

Just sharing that it's possible.

They could have both the superior ecosystem and superior hardware and software features, but they choose not to.

I'm actually feeling much better about my pre order, I just realized the Note 7 on Verizon is on the Annual Upgrade plan, so if in a year when Apple steps up their game, I can't jump back to the iPhone if I want.

Just so I understand correctly, you are heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem and based on RUMORS of what the iPhone 7 is going to be you pre-ordered a Note 7?

Have many of you left the iPhone but had everything else Apple and still loved the Android phone? Or did you try it and go back?
When my iPhone 4 was getting long-in-the-tooth, I switched back to an Android phone (Sharp Aquos Crystal). I loved the bezel-less design which allowed for the 5" screen in a smaller form-factor. It was my daily driver for 3 months short of 2 years.

But like all other Android phones that I've owned... (and I've owned many including the first one, HTC Dream), interoperating with other devices was problematic. Not only was SMS messaging hit-n-miss communicating with my iPhone-using acquaintances, but finding cross-platform apps to access data that I need to access across different operating systems was adequate at best and far from ideal.

With the release of the iPhone SE and a great no-contract price by my provider, I switched back to an iPhone. I've only had it a few weeks and I am already reminded of how great the experience had been with the 4 but now even better.

It's so rare for an app to crash on Android that I can't remember the last time it happened. Seriously.
Every time I open the SpeedTest app on my Nexus 6, an error message pops up say "Unfortunately, Drive Ahead (a game) has stopped." Then, every time I reboot it and I get to the home screen, the first thing that happens is another error message saying, "Unfortunately, NBA has stopped." I also have a TI-84 calculator app installed that has crashed on me more than once. I can replicate these issues all the time and I really don't like it. I wish I could say that I haven't experienced an app not working on Android.

It's not necessarily that easy to leave. If someone has lots of shared messages and photo albums with others, it makes leaving really hard. Also, you lose the ability to answer phone calls and send texts from all of your Apple devices. You have to buy apps twice, once for iOS and once for Android. Sometimes it can be very difficult to leave and even impossible for some people.

Indeed

Software updates are huge too and the way it just works so smoothly with Apple.

For me I get Twitter notifications from quite a few people and on Apple I don't need to clear all my notications to keep getting them while on android I stop getting them after a while which was a problem on my edge, on iPhone and iPad they come through non stop...so stuff like that bothers me,

For me my Apple Watch and corporate emails are keeping me on iOS. I know a lot of people hate the AW, but I love my and have spend way to much money on bands. I honestly would not want to move back to android for that reason alone. I have used an Android Wear watch as well, but I really like the AW better. Just me though. Nothing against android wear at all.

The biggest thing though is my work email. It works much better with the iOS stock mail app, and I don't have to agree to let my company take over my phone if they need to on iOS. I don't like the message they give me on android that they can deactivate and wipe my phone at any point. Maybe this is more of my company thing this iOS vs android, but email is a very important part of my work life, so I need it to work flawlessly.

Again I have nothing against android, and would love to give it a try from time to time, but those to things plus having so much Apple stuff in my house keep me with Apple.
