What?

Well then that 'charge' comment makes no sense, as the IPP must be used for it's intended purpose, and not function solely as a charger (as then the pencil would be useless).

Ta da!
The new pencil charges wirelessly via the new iPad. No more lightning cable or plugging it into the iPad.

I looked at the new Pencil and it's very nice. A big improvement.

And you have to hand it to Apple, making it useless without purchasing a new IPP. Crafty buggers, these.

"Want the new Pencil?...not so fast" :D

I love how a total troll post generates 8 pages (and counting) of comments.

You also must be a Trump supporter, anyone who disagrees with your opinion is fake news, quite pathetic that you intellectually cannot expand beyond that

LULZ. Pot kettle much?

If you used even the laziest bit of effort to, you know, actually do the research, you’d know I’m one of the most virulently angry liberals extant. I would also point out that I don’t hide my name like most internet cowards do.

As for my comment, it stands. The hyperbole and disdain in the original post is troll of the highest order, proven by the duration of this thread.

From here I will happily cede to you the final word, as an insistence upon it is a sure sign of a feeble mind and an even weaker argument.

I guess that every time Apple releases new MacBooks and MacBook Pros they are all useless releases too since they offer nothing but modest hardware boosts.

Eh, I wouldn’t got that far. Your topic is easily argued unless you throw out reason.

And as far as the “fake news” comment- As stated a little bit before, it wouldn’t be very difficult to accuse you of exactly what you’re making generalizations about.

Because although he very well could be a troll, and OP has been overly aggressive with his posts and responses, he has hit a sore spot for many here.

A device that has keyboard support, keyboard shortcuts, multi-tasking, a file app, split screen capabilities, is faster than 94% of traditional computers out there, a USB-C port, outputs to 4K monitors...but can't open multiple copies of a Word document or accept a mouse?

Something just doesn't seem right.

My wies
Literally no real differences besides usual spec bump, USB-C input is severely limited and with a simple lighting to USB-C dongle you can do the same thing with last years iPad Pro

But the main point is that iOS is still iOS. Extremely limited and cumbersome compared to macOS so it’s not laptop replacement by a long shot, but great at media consumption. It doesn’t matter if you have the power of a Mac Pro in an iPad if it can’t do anything

Hopefully iOS 13 actually makes the iPad a machine pro’s could realistically entertain using
my questing is will the pixel slate let me do what the iPad 11 will let me do? Which is internet streaming, pdf, reading. And mouse support.

I feel like I’m at a Trump rally with everyone calling any negative attention towards the iPad Pro, fake news, sad

Talk about an echo chamber

And guess who represents Trump in this thread.

I actually appreciate the click bait thread title. And as much as I want to Disagree I have to actually Agree. I wish I had my 9.7” Pro back.
Why? Because Everything my new 11” Pro does my old 9.7” Pro could do also.

But there are so many Upgrades I would have been salty all year. I firmly believe that Next years. IPad Pro will bring OLED and Dolby Vision and HDR which is why they removed it from this years iPad Pro line up and No one says a word.

In short.
No HDR No Dolby Vision
No OLED
A watered down NO OIS camera
4GB RAM won’t age well with future iOS updates.
Worst of all No Features that a 2 year old iPad Pro doesn’t have already.

I’m guessing you’ll not be satisfied until the iPad is able to fly you to Mars then?! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You call attaching an external drive to the USB-C port and the iPad not reading it at all flying to Mars? Wow, you have really really really really low expectations of what a $2000 tablet should do for you

But its not a £2000 tablet, it starts at £799.

This is the biggest upgrade to iPad since the iPad Air. In my opinion.
I think the iPad Air 2 was the biggest leap feature wise actually. It introduced a biometric verification method, a laminated display and for the first time enough RAM so that you don’t worry about it. Design aside, the first Air was very limited due to RAM capacity.

If 4GB isn’t enough, then the flagship iPhone XS Max will become obsolete soon as well. It even has a similar resolution to the 11” iPad Pro so they should have similar RAM needs. People obsess about RAM capacity but they forget how similar the iPad and the iPhone are in both hardware and software. If Apple ever introduces a significantly different OS for the iPad then we can have this discussion again.

You are going to have to go quite a few iOS versions into the future to find one where 4 GB of RAM doesn’t hold up well, especially since the current iOS supports devices with 1 GB of RAM.

New between 9.7 and 11”
  • ProMotion (yes, this was in the 10.5” update)
  • FaceID
  • Magnetic Charging Apple Pencil
  • Touch Control on the Apple Pencil
  • uSB-C
  • HUGE spec bumps in processor and graphics memory
Your 9.7” Pro also only had 2 GB of RAM.

So, yes, I suppose if you’re only using it for watching YouTube videos and surf the web, it might have been a poor choice to update and maybe you should return it for a 9.7” 2018 iPad.

If, however, are going to use it for augmented reality, CAD, drawing, editing video, Photoshop, games (more than Angry Birds), audio editing, or any other of a number of processor and graphics tasks (and these are just a sampling of what I use my iPad for), then the “spec bump” is most welcome!
