So is it solved yet?
923 Yellow. Does the Model number change from different week builds? I have a 3GS 32g black and my friend has the same phone without the yellow (925 week). My Model number is MC137LL and his was MBXXXLL, I forgot the number but it was different.
Wouldn't have even noticed if not for the forum.
my goodness people, there is even a huge thread I just found in the apple support site on the problem as well: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2048495&tstart=15&start=45
not that hard of a concept to grasp people!
Besides, if I paid $500 for a product absolutely I am going to complain if it's defective!
@The General@USC_Gamecock - Thanks for not complaining and helping!
No yellow tint, replacement shipped from Apple due to hairline crack in the case. Week 24 32GB 3G s. My model number is MB718LLWeird, my model number is MB717LL but it's also a 32 gig black 3gs. I wonder why our model numbers are different? I don't know if it has anything to do with the screen, but I can honestly say that this screen is only slightly warm and it's a replacement for a 3gs that did have a yellow screen.
and we should all use screen shot cause every camera is going to look a bit different.
can someone post a pic of an apples to apples comparison, not two differnt models of phones? The 3gs is a different model, maybe the changed what it was supposed to look like. I would like to see a 3gs with a yellow tint, then one without a yellow tint, then maybe there's a problem. I don't know anyone else with a 3gs, so I can't compare mine.
I'm happy with mine, but I'm getting all worried that there's something wrong with it geez!
thanks
since I'm complaining, here's a pic of my screen to compare.
and we should all use screen shot cause every camera is going to look a bit different.
please tell me you're kidding.
yeah sorry bout that I was really tired when I wrote all that, and wasn't thinking. of course the screenshot would bypass the actual screen projection. but hey it makes a camera sound so it must be a real picture lol. I"m officially embarassed (alittle), so have at me.
but I do think that the 3gs could just be a different looking screen from the 3g all together. I don't think just cause it looks different from the previous model, that there's something "wrong". I know most anti reflective coatings have a very slight purple tint to them, and maybe that could filter out some of the blues causeing the screen to be yeller? Most people, from what I've read, didn't notice any problem until they compared it to a 3g, not a friends 3gs.
Uh, I've compared my 3GS to both of my friends 3GS and their screens are white like my previous 3G while mine is "warm". I'm pretty tired of reviewers who are saying the new 3GS is "warmer" than previous models. Apple did not release that. They got ****** screens. If Apple made the screen "warmer" than EVERYONE would have the same screen and we wouldn't have these threads. When I spoke with a Apple product specialist he said the screen should look the SAME as the 3G.
Model MB717LL - yellow bottom on my screen.
I have a 16gb S. Screen looks fine, not yellow in any way.
I think mine is week 21 and the model number starts MC.
(I bought the phone from a UK Apple store last Thursday)
