LG G2 benchmarks - http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2013/09/01/lg-g2-performance-power-shown-in-benchmarks/ (Very impressive)

LG G2 camera - http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2013/08/31/lg-g2-vs-iphone-5-vs-galaxy-s4-camera-samples/

My partner and I have both won cases at CISAS so have managed to get our contracts cancelled early. This is the phone I reckon were both going to go for. Looks pretty impressive.

Great looking phone, but that button placement is still an odd choice for me. I could see this phone as a Nexus, but I've also heard Motorola as rumored to make the next Nexus.

a great phone, maybe the best competitor of the GS4, but, i'm a note guy, i love huge screens and the stylus functionality, so i'm just waiting for the note 3.

I would be more excited for a Google edition or a nexus variant of the G2

Wow I hadn't seen the benchmarks from the z ultra yet that was posted in the link. The z ultra cleans house too bad its massive. :p I'm sure the new notes power will follow suit.

The only thing that I find exciting about the LG is the double-tap (I hate when it's referred to as "knocking" as you don't really have to knock it literally, which is what everyone thinks you have to do) to turn on/off the screen. Amazing feature.

I love that feature too. Meanwhile, I'm happy we can at least get a two finger slide to turn the screen off on any phone using Nova Prime

Try Swipe Home paired with Screen Off & Lock.

I find this combination much better. I have Screen Off & Lock bind to the Up-Down gesture so I can literally turn my phone off from anywhere at anytime by gesturing up and then down from my "blank" HTC logo of my One.

Give it a shot. Swipe Home is free for first 7 days, then 99 cents after. Well worth the money, especially if you have the One. (Swipe Home in general is just a fantastic app. If you know Zephyr from the iOS Jailbreak community, you'll love Swipe Home).

Ooh, nice one! I had two finger swipe down paired with Screen off and Lock and I think I'll keep that combo too for certain situations, but Swipe Home is fantastic! Didn't know that swipe-for-homebutton functionality was possible without root. Thanks for the tip!

Heh, and I can see how this would relieve a One owner of at least a bit of the frustration over that misplaced home button :D

I tried this combo on my GS4 and it was hardly ever responsive.....perhaps because the physical home button is in the way, I'm not getting a good enough swipe up but nonetheless I deleted them both pretty quickly.

Really only ever registered my gesture maybe 25% of the time.....

Looks really nice. Wonder how the overall size of the device compares to the GS4 - which IMO best provides the largest amount of screen area in the smallest footprint.

Looks like the bezels on the G2 put the GS4 to shame! Is that a camera cover on the back that you slide up?

EDIT: Question answered by the interwebz...

http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-G...-One-vs-Sony-Xperia-Z-size-comparison_id46141

Looks too big for me. Still, a nice phone.

i've watched countless reviews and hands on videos and it seems it is just slightly larger than that gs4 and about the same size as the htc one.

I for one will be pre-ordering this tomorrow.

The physical button is my guess, too. Just not enough space "outside" of the area to swipe inward from. The gestures are all some combination of motioning from outside of the screen, then in and/or back out.

It's the most ideal on the One. Near flawless -- rarely misses.

Consider turning up the detection area under advanced settings if you want to try to make it work on the S4.

Ahh figures.

If I still had my One, I'd make it a priority to get working. As the GS4 is, Nova Prime's gestures and the current button configuration work plenty fine for me.

I love it as well on my One--paired it with Swapps and coupled with the gestures available with Nova Prime and I rarely have to actually touch an app on any home screen or via the app drawer, pretty much fully gesture based navigation. Only hiccup I occasionally have is with the long swipe up gesture via Swipe Home Button--doesn't take an overly long swipe to activate it, have accidentally launched the associated app when only intending for the short swipe up.

Yeah it's really changed the entire way I use my phone. Near everything is gesture based. Even typing now that I'm fully adapted to Swype.

It's a lovely thing.

For what its worth I'm also using it on the S4. You do have to start the gesture very close to the physical home button but I am having a great experience with it.

Nice.

Though I am selfishly more excited about these positive reviews for the purposes of the Nexus 5, if indeed it is based off the G2. I personally don't want it to be LG again, but this is the right start in winning me back...

I can't wait to see this phone in person. If it does well in reception I can see me getting the G2.
