Great looking phone, but that button placement is still an odd choice for me. I could see this phone as a Nexus, but I've also heard Motorola as rumored to make the next Nexus.

Actually thats a great place for a camera button. Better than having to touch the screen. Sure the back buttons will take a little getting used to but shouldnt take long and i can see myself really liking it.

For a camera button it's odd considering all cameras have their dedicated shooter buttons on top. However I'm sure I'd get used to it, I just don't like putting my phone screen down on any surface. Might be good for "selfless" as G2 is marketing it. However, I guess it's obvious that LG will make the next Nexus.

Why would you have to put the G2 screen down on a surface?

Yes but we arent comparing to a regular camera. Most phones have the camera button on the screen which sometimes i hate. Being on the back i think will be great.

It seems really odd to me. You would then have to reach your finger around to the back, and press with no opposing finger on the other side to counter the pressure? With the button being really close to the lens too, so your finger might easily get in the shot. I dunno... I suppose they've tested it extensively of course, but I don't really get it.

What I really want for X-mas is a camera button on the side that really does nothing but control the camera. Nice and big so you don't mistake it for power or volume. One second hold to activate the camera, even with the screen off, perhaps double click to directly activate video shooting mode instead, and once the cam is launched it just becomes the shooter.

I just dont see a problem with that unless your clumsy. the bitton int really that close to the lens. I think it wouldnt take much time to get used to it and then you'll wonder why they all didnt think of it. I hate the camera button being on the screen. Sometimes it is a pain tying to do some pictures.

Windows phones do this.

The concern would be accidentally pressing the rear buttons while it was laying on a surface. Maybe you won't not sure.

OK, I see. From what I understand the power button is recessed so it won't be accidentally pressed. I'm interested in how it feels to use those buttons. Can't wait until it hits the stores.

Just watched the phonedog review on the G2 and it is very impressive. It's amazing how fast this phone is.

I played around with one at the Verizon store last night. Very fast phone and very smooth UI experience. I would have walked out with it....except for the buttons on the back of the phone......that might some getting used to.....

I've been watching unboxings and reviews of this phone and I'm very impressed. If it weren't for the Note 3, I would've considered this phone for my next upgrade. Kind of surprised its not getting much attention on this forum.

I can't wait to swing by my Verizon store and check it out. I'm reading very good things about the G2 on other forums.

What didn't you like?

I liked it but its a bit bigger then my one.
The buttons didn't bother me because with the knock feature u really don't use the power button anyways.
I just wanted to save my upgrade for something else that's comes out but not the ip5s.
Its a nice phone tho but it felt like it was very cheaply made.

Well i pickd up the LG G2 today. I have to say that this is one og the best phones I have had. To my surprise...the buttons on the back have not been an issue for me so far. The knock on the screen feature to turn the screen off nd to wake the phone is so useful. The camera is every bit as good as my S4.
The phone is very fast with no lag or stutter at all. The UI skin LG uses is very nice. I usually install Nova on my android phones. But i don't feel the need to do that with the LG G2. I can't comment on the battery yet...it has only been a few hours. I dd get the wireless charging unit as well.
Phonedog (Aaron Baker) loves the buttons on the back in his comparison to the HTC One http://www.phonedog.com/products/lg-g2/
I am impressed with my first LG phone. It will become my daily driver if the battery lasts a day of normal for me use.....

You can change the home and back buttons. You can re-arrange them or add buttons......very nice!

For me the battery life and camera are the biggest attractions with this phone. If the HTC One had a better camera and similar battery life I would get it instead.

so far the battery has exceeded expectations. I took it off the wireless charger this morning at 6AM til 1PM and i have been going through the menus and played music for 2 hours at the gym. It shows it has 90% left. It projects 38.5 hours battery life left. Hopefully that is accurate...
