The dual-rear-cameras seem to be confirmed. I wonder how they'll be used differently than the Evo 3D or M8? Optical zoom?

I doubt it. We're a long way from optical zoom on a phone camera.
I think they might just use them how they used the front cameras on the V10, one for normal shots and one for wide shots.

I see. Still, it's nice to see someone step-up their camera game!

Where have you been the last 12 months?? 2015 was the year of camera game step uppage!
Sorry, I forgot to be more specific. I meant that I'm looking forward to the dual rear-cameras this year and seeing how each manufacturer uses them in their own unique ways.

Plus, it'll be funny to see HTC bring it back and catching-up in their own game, which they started with the EVO 3D and M8.

Right...I think it is time for Apple to up its game in the camera department.
The older S6 camera beats the newer 6s camera.
Couldn't agree more. f/2.2 aperture when the older S6 had an f/1.9 is just plain too greedy of them. Also, the f/1.7 for the newer S7 will be too ahead of the 6s. On the bright side, since it'll be a 12MP sensor, it'll be much easier to compare results.

I'm expecting Apple to continue their greed and only give us an f/2.0 aperture, which is definitely not enough for the iPhone 7 if they want to be at the top.

That's the HTC Inspire, was released in 2011 on AT&T, not sure worldwide release though. I had that phone for a couple of months, it was built like a tank.

The tank description reminds me on the HTC Thunderbolt. that phone was a tank too.
It was known as the Desire HD internationally. That phone was truly HTC's peak, they loaded it with +700mb RAM, a 4.3inch display and the very latest Snapdragon SoC at the time, they did not hold back at all, one of the very last times HTC went "all out" with a device.

The reason why that battery door design never stuck around was because getting it open and closed was a pure nightmare and many ended up damaging their brand new Desire HDs on the 1st day.

The best battery door design, IMO, belongs to SonyEricsson with the K850 Cyber-shot, I still have mine somewhere in my drawer. The battery door was at the bottom with metal latches, brilliant design.

After seeing the leaked renders, I am liking the shape and design of the G5, the flat back is a must for me, like the iPhone and Note 5. Plus the metal body is a good one as well. And 5.6" screen with minimal bezels sounds like a very nice size. Just never a big fan of LG's UI, but let's see what this version looks like.

So the question is, will the G5 hype reduce, or be swallowed up by, the S7 hype?
I think the S7 will get more hype because of previous products. But if LG delivers something really great they can steal the S7's thunder for sure.

I guess it's down to advertising. Just letting the general public know that they exist. Show off the coolest, most unique features of the phone. That's what makes phones sell in my opinion.

I don't think so, yes the S7 will be the most popular one of course, the Galaxy line is huge. But if the G5 has a really great metal design, something along the sides of the iPhone, HTC One series, etc...then LG will be just fine, along with a very compact bezel to screen ratio, the 5.6" screen, in an LG slim body, will make it look much smaller than other phones similar sized screens.

The biggest problem for LG is their image, they're viewed as a Samsung ripoff, fairly or not. They'll need a lot of marketing to turn that around.

Nah, their biggest problem is that skin. My god it's f'ugly :)
My sister bought a at&t lg g flex 2 a few days ago. Now I have never used any other Android phones apart from nexus or international versions of phones. I was shocked at the bloat. I did not know the extent of which these phones came bloated. There must have been 10 different at&t apps then adding in lg apps and the awful skin.

God damn, no wonder so many iPhone users hate Android if this is what they had to deal with. Just setting it up got me sick.

You nailed it! I wish we could get rid of all the carrier bloat. Make them all optional downloads. Just add a placeholder for them in the app drawer for people to Dl if they want the games or apps.

Yes and no. Look at it for what it is.
Android: Disable / Uninstall the Carrier bloat and any OEM bloat. Use an alternative launcher to change the look / feel.
Apple iOS: Move all the stuff you don't want to an iCrap or other folder. You cannot change the look / feel.

Pick one. They both have bloat issues. At least with Android you can usually clean it up.

Yeah but I don't think iOS has so much bloat. I am talking roughly 20 of so apps. I was just looking on it from a general consumer. I am assuming the general public does not know how to disable and hide Android apps. Don't get me wrong, I am pro Android...just been my first time with a carrier phone.

I agree. Or at least make them removable. I wonder how does the carrier and lg benefit from these apps, if they benefit enough go lower their customers user experience hmm.
