Few days after the initial tip from the anonymous tipster, we now have additional photos of the upcoming LG flagship.
Rear of the G6 possesses dual cameras as seen from the G5 and V20, as well as the LG's signature rear power button with embedded fingerprint sensor, as we don't see one elsewhere. The all-metal device is in silver and what appears to be light blue color scheme, with a SIM card (and/or a micro SD card) slot on the right corner. An antenna band follows with the chamfered edge all around the phone. Thankfully enough the 3.5mm headphone jack survived, not conforming to the small trend of killing them in favor of gaining more space inside.

New photos also reveal the left side of the phone for the first time. Aside from the usual volume button placements, there are USB Type-C port and a speaker at the bottom. The first photos spotting the full design of the phone looks considerably clear and legit.

Korean company's new invention is expected to get water/dust resistance with built-in battery, along with the 2:1 ration 5.7" panel. We should be able to expect more information before its official reveal on February 26th at MWC 2017.

Looks really nice. If it really is all metal on the back instead of the fake G5 attempt, that's a good moved.

Shame about the 821 but the average consumer will have no idea nor care much about that.

I've given up on the G series. I'm not sure why LG is pouring resources into it, when the V series is their flagship? just make 2 Sizes of the V and you've got a winner.

Especially considering they have the K3, K4, K8 (Aristo) and K10 to cover the low and mid-tier price range. The G series doesn't really fit in to the line up.

Now that its been shown in its full glory, i think its safe to say they've made a decent leap in design. Especially compared to the G5.

The problem is though, currently in most markets, LG does not appeal to the average consumer. I would say the groups who are most likely not going to research what they buy, are typically those bought into the brand (Apple, Samsung etc) or those who just want an affordable phone.

Unless you have that massive consumer base, its very rare to see products in any industry which get panned or average reviews turn out to be a huge success. I would say now more than ever you discount the informed buyer at your own peril.

Still the older chip wont make or break it for most. If they price it aggressively, release it in a timely manner, it ranks highly in other key areas such as battery life and camera and has a few decent extras like Assistant and B&O then it could do very well.

It looks similar to the HTC and iPhone design that's been around a few years now.

It doesn't seem that appealing unless they decide to price it in a very lucrative way (Which I doubt they will).

It seems strangely dated a little. Like it's made up from bits of design leaks for the myriad other devices from the last 24 months aesthetically ...

Don't dislike it, but don't particularly like either, indeed my overwhelming reaction is just an underwhelmed 'meh' ...

It probably does look better in reality though .

LG's android overlay is what has always turned me off their devices though. Will that see a 2017 facelift.

Agree on the pricing - they'll need to go aggressive to sell against what's coming up. Also not a fan of the skin. The G5 was the first I'd really tried and it wasn't great software before the battery and weird modular gaps. Throw in historical bootloops and their disinterest in certain markets (no V20 in the UK) and it's a hard sell to me. Feels like they're on the same path as HTC.

I had the V20 for a while and the LG skin was really toned down from my past experiences with it.
I am hoping the G6 adopts the toned down LG skin from the V20

I'm more excited about this than the S8, although I'm not planning in changing phones in a long while. Very happy with my Huawei Nova Plus. But the G6 might be my next phone in a year when the price comes down.

Strange that with the smaller bezel the white version (my colour of choice phone wise) just doesn't very nice at all. The black looks far better.

I am more interested in the G6 than the S8 myself for simple reason it's a flat screen (no edges) and even though it has thin bezels, I still prefer some bezel to none personally. Also with the improved quad DAC ...

However ... I will only be tempted if LG have sorted out their Android skin.

I am not going to buy either the G6 or S8 regardless at launch this year. I will wait a few months and for the price to drop or for a 'second hand' bargain.

I just can no longer justify €800-1000 multiple times per year just to try latest OEM phone.

I'm more excited about this over the S8, too. My wife has an S7 edge and I just CANNOT stand the rounded edges. Sure it makes it comfortable in your hand, but it also distorts so much stuff on the edges. I just picked up a V20 from B&H for $499, so I'll probably stick with it until summer when I can grab one of these at a slightly reduced price. But this is shaping up to be my next phone as I continue to pry myself away from Apple...

the LG V20 is great. Standby battery time has been on par with iPhone on mine. Screen to size ratio I love as well.

Yeah, I also hate screens with round edges. I've always liked LG better due to the double tap to wake, customizable on screen buttons (although the S8 finally has them), better fingerprint method (never liked the hardware home button in the Galaxy series, but that is also fixed now it seems), etc.

But my biggest reason for liking this over the Samsung flagship is the IPS screen.

I've had multiple issues with burn-in with AMOLED screens, so if I can avoid them then much better.

I'm also sure the G6 will come down in price faster, and it will still be an amazing phone despite the processor.

In a year or two being able to get this for 250€ will be awesome. I'm in no hurry. Or maybe something better will come along later and cheaper also.

The only negative point of my Huawei Nova Plus is the camera. Everything else is great. I get almost 8 hours screen on time every day, and the screen is beautiful and big but manageable.

So I can stick with this for more than a year and wait for something similar but with a better camera.

It's cute. It reminds me a little bit of my iPhone SE from the sides. I'm hearing about rare instances of bootloops on the V20 now so I'm a bit leery of LG, despite the enthusiasm of users for the V20.

The Samsung S8 is an aesthetic upgrade but I don't know if there's enough new and must-have to entice me to upgrade. A 4K resolution might have tempted me for VR.

Otherwise I'm really happy with my S7 and S7 Edge. I'm looking forward to getting a year and a half regular use out of both of them. They get used in the VR goggles a lot so I'm not sure what the constant overheating will do to the longevity of their batteries. S7 is also serving me well for gaming and Pokémon Go and as an actual phone.

I don't like working with the rounded edges on an edge display, either. In the case, it's not too bad since I'm used to handling it. But when I have to hand over the phone so someone can see a picture or take one of me, they usually end up touching an edge and both they and the phone freak out.

I was interested in seeing phones get Alexa on them.

Best shot yet of the G6 colors. That white is looking good to me.

Wow, great colors. I like the white, too. These are nice looking phones. A bit dated in style compared to the iPhone 8 renders and Samsung 8 leaked photos, but they still have an appealing clean look to them.

I wonder why Apple stepped away from black and white phones and never offered a blue one for their flagships. (I admired that they did go colorful for 5c and would have bought one had I not already upgraded to a 5s). While I appreciated and owned a rose gold iPhone, I always thought a nice shade of blue would have had broader appeal.

I get a bit nostalgic looking at that blue, but I won't touch it! My parents bought me a Dodge car that exact color as a college graduation gift. The car was an utter piece of crap that fell apart within 4 years. It was like the Note 7 of its time, as it had a defect that caused it to spit gasoline back up and out like acid reflux on a human, and the police had to leave me a note of public hazard on it, which amused my coworkers to no end. I just barely managed to sell it to a mechanic friend to get money for the down payment for the amazing fantastic GM car I am still driving to this day, almost 25 years later.

I had a blue Note 7. And earlier last year my husband tried to hand me down his blue compact SUV when he bought his used black truck (which he also ended up giving to me). The blue SUV is possessed and hates me. I've only been able to drive it a handful of times. The rest of the time that I've tried, it finds something to break on itself including a brand new battery, just to spite me and leave me stranded. It drives for my husband just fine though. So even though blue is one of my favorite colors, I'm going to pass on blue phones.
[doublepost=1488044102][/doublepost]Ah, here's a photo of what my ill fated car looked like. It's not my car but it's the same kind and color:

Does this 5.7" phone really have a small 3,200mAh battery ? That's a deal killer right there. And don't tell me the hardware is more efficient blah blah blah. A phone this size needs a 3,600mAh battery or larger.

Plus the G6 is running last year's specs, not the more efficient and much better SD835 that most 2017 phones will come with.

32GB in US and EU
Wireless Charging exclusive to US
Quad DAC exclusive to Asia
Gorilla Glass 3

If this is priced higher than £400 and whatever that equates to in other regions then its sure to be a runaway success like LG has never seen before.

So basically in europe we get ripped off. Thats a shame the phone is gorgeous besides those rounded corners that put me off.

Yep you'll pay more and get less in Europe. Why? Because LG thinks they can get away with it, and thus they'll earn higher margins in certain markets.

You've got to admire Apple for at least giving people essentially the same phone all over the world with none of this BS.

Stopped reading at 3,300mAh battery. For a 5.7" device that's just unacceptable. Only 32GB available in the U.S. to start. And running 2016 hardware in 2017 is not good either. Oh well LG maybe next year.
