32GB in US and EU
Wireless Charging exclusive to US
Quad DAC exclusive to Asia
Gorilla Glass 3

If this is priced higher than £400 and whatever that equates to in other regions then its sure to be a runaway success like LG has never seen before.
You forgot the "/s" at the end of your post. :D

Though I suppose some things are just too obvious.

With those boneheaded decisions LG just put a gun up to the phones and blasted them off most non-Asian customers wishlists.

My HTC 10 remains a much better buy. It has the high end DAC. I like the wireless charging but I'd rather have a minimum 64 GB onboard storage, especially if system data eats up 11 gigs of that. And making wireless charging exclusive to the US? Jeez, at the very least, what about Canada?

Despite Android Central gushing about the cameras, their sample pics showed a problem with blown out highlights and poor dynamic range.

It's still cute. There's that. But OnePlus 3T and Mate 9 and Honor 8 are still going to eat this phone's lunch. There's still life left in those phones yet, especially with the value for the dollar.

Does this 5.7" phone really have a small 3,200mAh battery ? That's a deal killer right there. And don't tell me the hardware is more efficient blah blah blah. A phone this size needs a 3,600mAh battery or larger.

Plus the G6 is running last year's specs, not the more efficient and much better SD835 that most 2017 phones will come with.

Well S8 plus is only said to come with 3,500

That's a major disappointment too. The S7 Edge came with a 3,600mAh and was rewarded with amazing best in class battery life for 2016. Now they're gonna go smaller on the battery, but larger screen. WTF?

And I don't wanna hear about the more efficient processor, etc... for Android nothing beats larger battery size for better stamina. This isn't the iPhone where a smaller battery still lasts all day.

Looks great for the US

Water resistant and wireless charging but why not for all?

LG arbitrarily decided to shut the US and most non-Asian markets out of 64 GB storage. Same with the higher quality DAC most US customers came to associate with LG thanks to the V20. I'm not a huge fan of snubs like that.

I'm actually getting pretty sick of Asian manufacturers reserving the best specs and even colors to their Asian markets for no apparent reason (that I can discern). Even in the 70's and 80's when I got to visit, it was amazing how colorful and versatile their technology was. And even the AI and personality built into something like a rice cooker or microwave was impressive. My aunt had a talking microwave oven in 1987.

It was a letdown to come back to the US where everything electronic was black or silver, or worse, fake wood grain and could just do the basic features it was created for.

I guess they assume the high end market in the US belongs to Apple so they don't want to bother giving higher end features on a phone that's going to end up a bargain bin item halfway through its shelf life. Samsung is slowly moving away from that and it is paying off for them.

I am clutching my S7 Edge tight! Beginning to realise it was an anomaly, the Note 7 made that clear when it came with a 3500mah Battery despite a larger 5.7inch display.

Something that is quite impressive with the G6 is that it manages to fit a 5.7inch display in a smaller body than a S7 Edge

Did the front-facing camera really regress from 8MP with a larger f/2.0 aperture to 5MP with a smaller f/2.2 aperture? If so, then let's just add that to the list :(

Gorilla Glass 3 on the front.
Gorilla Glass 4 on the Camera lens on the back
Gorilla Glass 5 on the rest of the back.

Why? Really curious about this one.

Just saw news on the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus: more regionalism in play. According to Tech Radar the US won't get either of these models at all. Mexico will. UK will. So that's good news for regions that often get slighted. I'm genuinely happy for you all, especially since Apple is becoming unaffordable in these regions.

There's a great palette of colors but I would be surprised if the cool new green color leaves Asia at all. I hope I'm wrong about that.

I can't blame these companies for not releasing in the US given that Apple and Samsung have such a hold over our market. But it's sad for any of us wanting to give these guys a chance and give our wallets a slight break. Very slight...the P10 Plus has amazing specs but is going to be priced up there with other flagships to match.

At any rate I suppose I'm lucky I'll get to even see an LG G6 in the US at all. So far the news out of MWC is a bit of a letdown. I may as well tune out anything that's not an Apple keynote or a Samsung event. :(

p.s. Please feel free to pass me the cheese to go with my whine. :D

I really had my eye on the G6 and still might one on JoD...then if I don't like it I can get the S8 plus. I feel the same as @MRU ...i really wish Samsung had flat screen models of their flagship phones.

Flat is where it's at!

It's really hard to get the phone onto and out of the Samsung VR goggles. I had two accidental drops involving my S7. Drops is an understatement, sucker went flying a few feet and landed on my hardwood floor in the family room. Both times it emerged unscathed, which is miraculous for an all glass phone. I was expecting utter destruction based on what I've seen around me of the Edge phones.

I've seen smashed up S7 Edges and Note 7s that got that way from far less dramatic drops. Two guys told me their Edges got cracked up falling less than a foot, simply sliding off their laps and hitting the ground. One was my pool guy and he reenacted for me how it happened since he was already squatting down showing us stuff for the pool pump when I happened to notice his shattered S7 Edge and asked him about it.

I can see a common weakness in all of those breaks...it's at the corners. Somehow impact, even seemingly flat impact not at the corners, transmits the shock to the corners and causes the glass to shatter. I've seen so many shattered Edge phones. It's crazy.

Edge displays are a fad or trend that I hope reverses itself in a couple of years. It's not sensible or practical. It's a big fat pain in the tail. It's form over function in the most indulgent way. But yeah, it's visually very striking. My S7 Edge is gorgeous. But when I take an Android phone out with me on a very active day at the park, I take my regular S7 or my HTC 10.

Oh I had my eye on what Huawei was going to do. So did my husband. We were disappointed with the MWC news. He might pick up a Mate 9. I want Alexa really badly on a phone. Because I'm a nut, honestly. So I'm seeing what they do to update the Mate 9 or Honor 8. Otherwise I like what I've read about the OnePlus 3 T. But I have never seen one in person.

I really liked the wide angle camera on the G5. Worked well in quite a few situations. The rest was either OK (weird slopping screen) or not good (battery life, skin, gaps where mods went flush, painted plastic to imitate metal, etc.).

It'd take something exceptional to: a) make me ditch the 7 Plus; b) jump ahead of a Pixel, 3T or S8 in the Android space.

I'm liking the G6 but the Note 8 might tempt with iPhone 7 Plus.

With a bit of commonsense, this could have been a real alternative to the Pixel XL.

But it won't be. It's perfectly fine but as others have said, there are some bewildering decisions LG have made.

So:
Asia: Higher DAC, 64 GB version
US: Wireless charging
Europe; what exactly? None of those features?

It's just mind boggling that a company would reserve some features for some markets this just doesn't make sense at all.

Also a snapdragon 821 chip for a quad HD+ resolution? Are you kidding me that's the same chip as seen in the pixel and v20 now 6 months old, how #one can put that into a 2017 flagship is beyond me.

And then...No removable battery

Man LG you needed a killer phone this one isn't. seems like the V line is Lgs new flagship. I fully expect this phone to cost at least 600 bucks and I'd rather do the smart thing and buy a v20 or one plus 3t and save the money for a nice dinner or whatever
