After the somewhat okayish but not revolutionary Note 7 I'm looking forward to the V20 but honestly I just don't see the reason for that second screen at the top wouldn't it be easier to have the second screen at the bottom (much easier to reach on such a big phone)?

Wondering if this will be the first phone that goes fully 4k but I highly doubt it because the SD 820 is not beastly enough to handle it flawlessly.

Anyone considering checking out the V20 instead of getting a Note 7 replacement? I guess LG is introducing it on Tuesday. I really like my Note 7, but I've had good luck with LG phones as well.

The V20 has my interest for sure. I will wait to see it in the stores to get some hands on with it first.

For me it all comes down to if Verizon does the annual Upgrade program on it. Anyhow the more I use this Note 7 I really like it, so doubt I'll switch, but I hope it's a good phone. I like strong competition moving everyone forward.

I sure love my LG webOS TV's so they do well on products when they put their mind into it. The G3 moved ahead. Hopefully the V20 will do the same.

Wasn't today the day when it was supposed to be announced? Still nothing?

We know most from leak yesterday

Snapdragon 820
QHD main screen
1024x256 secondary screen
4gb ram
16mp camera
$799

Thanks MRU!

Sounds exactly like the G5 plus the secondary screen and bigger main screen. Probably bigger battery too. Just saw that the announcement is at 1:50AM here where I live, so still plenty to wait.

Price tag is too high and I see nothing revolutionary.

Yeah, I'd be interested but I've never been a fan of LG's phone software and skin. Whilst it is running Nougat I have no doubt it will be unrecognisable. If they had made it near stock with few extras I'd be very tempted. The V10 always tempted me but the hindrance of the software and lack of LTE Band 20 (800mhz) meant I never took the plunge.

I hope also they are using a better main display than the one in the G5 as that was very dull ...

That's the main reason I was looking into the V20: the dull and dim display of the G5. If it weren't for that it would have probably been my next smartphone, but I've seen it at stores and it's one of the worst displays I've seen in year's. Very very dim, and I live in a very sunny place, so I need as much brightness as possible.

I hope they fix that in the V20, but that price is too high, and as you say, LGs skin is one of the most ugly ones.

Hey that's a nice phone! If things get messed up trying to get a Note 7 replacement I might take a look at that beast. Although on Verizon we only get until Sept. 30th so I'm thinking it might not even be in stock.

Once again so much trimmer then the iPhone Plus with a bigger screen! The audio should be excellent on it.

I wish you could take the style of the Note 7, keep the AMOLED display, give it the ticker at the top, keep it water resistant, give it a stylus and a replaceable battery, and the LG audio... Combine all of that for a perfect phone!

Too big and too pricey, but I actually really really like it. Screen seems much brighter than G5. Really awesome phone overall.

Might wait for price to drop in a few months.

Tha is one nice looking phone! Did it say when it would be in stores?

On the inside, you're dealing with a Snapdragon 820-powered beast, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of base storage, backed up by microSD support, and a 3200 mAh removable battery. Naturally, USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0 are along for the ride too. That's on par with a lot of high-end Android phones right now, but Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 manages to pack a bigger battery (albeit non-removable) and same-sized display into a sleeker package.

Battery is only 3200 mAh...might be an issue. Even if it is removeable

It is a big phone. Dimensions wise it's about the exact same as an iPhone 6s Plus, but it does give you a 5.7" vs a 5.5" screen.

That's the thing I still love about my Note 7. It really is compact for the screen size.

Well, that was fast. Mr. Mobile already has a Hands On video posted. Interesting looking phone...still not a fan of LG's skinning, at least at first glance.

After owning LGs and Samsungs the one advantage of the LG UX over Samsung Touchwiz is it doesn't have the lag Samsung does. Now I'm not bothered by the occasional TW lag, but I know it drives some people crazy. I think it just comes down to the fact that LGs skin is pretty light and Touchwiz is heavy. The one thing I do like about TW is it's full of settings and you can really customize your phone right out of the box.

Aesthetically i actually prefer the V10.

LG's skin is still not for me though.

Yet I'm still thinking worth a shot ? Those B&O headphones that ship with the international version look nice.

Liked the v10 design better and I must say it's really better to wait. Next year will mark a huge change in smartphones with 4k screens, more ram and a more polished because established nougat version.

Hmmm I quite like it!

I know the design is a bit boring but if the camera was amazing and the software didn't lag, I've always had a soft spot for LG.

It seems to tick most boxes. This is the kind of phone you could comfortably record a podcast on.

If this turns out to be a hit for LG, the timing would be perfect to steal some of the Android spotlight from Samsung.

Apple was always going to do well with the iPhone 7. Now it'll do even better thanks to Samsung's fumble. Likewise, it's an opportunity for everyone else, too.

Hopefully LG sticks this landing. The v20 is looking really nice. Nicer than the g5.

The audiophile aspect of it - assuming it reviews out to be legit - is incredibly appealing to me, but the price isn't helping me want it. For that cost, I can come reasonably close to getting a Pixel and a Lenovo Phab 2 Pro (which I want because I've already got a Tango tablet and the AR stuff just appeals to me... enough to make up for the fact I'm sure it'll stay stuck on Marshmallow, which is still a leap from the Tango tablet's 4.4 environment).

OEMs are in such a weird space right now. The V10, pro or con, was a unique device with a specific niche. The V20 strikes me as just one more "flagship" thrown into the pile. It seems like a nice phone, don't get me wrong. Removable battery is probably it's biggest draw as far as I'm concerned. But, still, even in design LG simply made an aluminum slab vs the previous model's rugged shell. I don't get it. What is the audience they're going for here? This seems simply like a do over on the G5 instead of its own thing.
