Google made the software, not the hardware. It's Sony's camera. Otherwise, everyone would say the KEYone has Google's camera when it doesn't. Every tech blog reviewer has said it has the same camera that's in the Pixel and then they say it's a Sony camera.

Please stop giving Google credit for hardware they didn't make. I get so tired of hearing people say stuff like this. Like it's Google's Pixel phone when HTC made it. Google doesn't create or make everything with their name on it. Yes it's a great setup, I'm not saying it isn't.

I'll give an example of how much the tech industry and fan boys are stupid. The new Pixel might have the Edge Sense technology which was came out in the HTC U11. This new pixel will be made by LG. In several tech blogs I'm reading lately, headlines read that Apple is copying Android because the newest iPhone 8 will have small bezels. First, not every Android handset has small bezels so how is Apple copying Android? But nobody mentions how Google is copying anyone by having LG made the new Pixel with the edge sense technology. So by that same line of thinking, Google is copying Android now?

Since you appear to have gone to the Sunken Place, here's the TL;DR for you:

Sony.... made... the... sensor...

Google... did... everything... else...

Screen measurement comparison:

Note 8 6,3" 18,5:9 = 144x70mm
LG V30 6" 18:9 = 136x68mm

Surely you get that LG is an Android phone maker and said to be building the XL model......so where is Google copying LG when LG is making the phone? Maybe LG bundled it into the package to make the XL2.
Then surely you can imagine a company giving a manufacturer design and build specs on a product? For example Apple doesn't own the manufacturing companies that build their phones.

You missed where I said that HTC had the squeeze feature out first. And I never mentioned the fact about Apple, I already know that. Google also doesn't own any phone assembly plant either. My point was that everyone says Apple is copying a hardware feature that not every Android handset has but hasn't brought up the fact that now is Google copying Android? Now that LG is introducing a hardware feature that HTC had first?

Yes. I. Know. Sony. Made. The. Sensor. See, I can do it too. And Google also didn't make the chip, just the photographic algorithm for processing. So Google didn't do everything else. Like I said, people link google to the pixel by calling Google's phone when they don't own the assembly line or the corporation that made it. And yet everyone on every tech blog thinks HTC is going to fail, yet they praise the Google Pixel. Do you see my point? It's like people are blinded here.

HTC has the squeeze feature...no doubt about that. But now to save manufacturing could you not see then offering that feature to Google? It would save fab cost enormously! Then if LG ( Googles competitor in the smartphone arena) didn't WANT that feature included...they would not have put it on the table.

I brought up Apple as an example that not all phone sellers own the manufacturing companies that make the parts for their phones. Then Apple has notoriously said a 3.5 inch phone was the perfect size only to see record sales when they moved to the larger display phones that Android phone makers had been selling for years...... There are numerous examples of Apple following Android and some of Android following Apple. But Apple does not set the trends anymore...they follow the designs that have already been set by others.

How can Google copying Android? Kinda like saying Apple is copying IOS......

Lol I just said the words "Google's own camera" and my man went off on one :D

Anyway, let's get back on track.

LG V30 - is it only available to people UNDER or OVER 30 years of age?

Zoom, in one ear and out the other without hitting anything. Why in the world would HTC "offer" it to Google when it's LG making the phone?

Please try to keep up....the Pixel 2 manufactured by HTC WILL have squeeze features similar as found in the HTC U11.
It makes sense as I pointed out in my previous posts that you haven't read or can't comprehend.

The Pixel 2 will do things when you squeeze it, FCC filing confirms

Two key points stand out for me from the article. The V30 could take the crown as the best camera on a smartphone and the FPS....

And yet, the LG V30 is shaping up to be a formidable challenger: f/1.6 lens, 6-inch OLED display, thin as hell, and even slimmer bezels than the G6 from earlier this year. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S8 and leaked photos of the Note 8, the V30 even has its fingerprint sensor in the right place.

The LG G6 was already a great phone as it is. The V20 was also a solid iteration too. I expect the V30 to be the best OEM skinned Android phone because let's face it, Samsung can make a great phone, but it will still offer similar limitations to the S8/S8+: lack of accessories, tons of bloat, Bixby taking up resources, curved screens are too fragile, the phone will bog down over time, and there will be a lot of lag at some point.

LG's skin is ugly as hell, but a launcher takes care of that. Plus, it won't lag as much as Samsung Experience software does. Plus, with a 835 processor, 6GB RAM, quad DAC, improved camera, P-OLED screen, I expect the LG V30 to have strong battery life.

funny thing about bloat....on my TMO s8+ i have hardly any bloat at all...ner has lagged and I get 6.5 to almost 8 hours SOT. You would think if all that extra software was consuming resources the SOT would be much mower. I don't think there is a lack of accessories for the S8 line.

Personally I don't mind the LG skin...it is not bad at all. I will get the V30 over the N8 just for the camera and FPS alone....

Well, by accessories, I meant for the skin protector because that curved display is a bitch to get something tempered glass. Bloat is annoying with Samsung's software doubling up for Google Apps as well.

oh i get what you mean now....that is the problem with the curved displays....screen protectors don't really fit or work well. I like some of the default Samsung apps but things like Bixby just annoy the heck out of me!

Especially if Bixby goes off in random places. The dedicated button should've been somewhere else or non-existent. I read on Reddit and on some website that a lawyer's S8 went off during closing arguments. Even Samsung crippled the Google Assistant.

How did Samsung cripple Google Assistant? Mines work just fine along with Bixby.

There was an update that made voice recognition useless and the Google Asssitant froze up as well.

I'm not experiencing any issues with Google Assitant at all.

But yes, I have noticed that voice recognition on Bixby all of the sudden became horrible with certain words. It would take endless try to get Bixby to understand the word "optimize". Where as before, it would get it right on the first try.

This is UX 6.0 on the G6 ... The V30's UX 6.0+ will be much the same with the addition of the floating bar (activated like apps edge on the S8) ...

If you are not a fan of LG's UI the V30 probably won't convert you. But honestly I don't mind it myself at all.

Oh important info, just an FYI. Those that opt to use the home launcher with app drawer on the G6 and presumably the V30, this option looks much older because it is actually the launcher from UX 4.0 which is why it looks very antiquated and you are actually choosing a launcher from a few years back, it also has poorer performance than the default Home based on UX 6.0

UX 6.0 and 6.0+ do not have the app drawer.

My wife has the G6 and it really is a nice phone. Nothing fancy or cute or anything, but just a solid great smartphone, kind of plane in a good way.

So if the V30 is a tweaked version of the G6 with better hardware, a much nicer display, and updated UI. It could be a super phone.

Nice, that little bit of horizontal space coupled with not having a curved edge I think will go a long way. The V30 seems like THE android phone to beat, I can't imagine how awesome it will be if the XL2 winds up being the V30 in disguise.

I just want it to make a poop sound when I squeeze it, is that too much to ask for? Sorry, hanging out with my 5 year old daughter today and that's what she asked for when I asked her to squeeze my phone.
