From what I have read the V 30 will have a curved Edge screen like the S8 and will be plastic on the edges and OLED on the main display

With the LG G6, is it me, or do I feel that its brightness isn't so great at mid range or on auto. Even at 100%, it isn't as bright as the S8. I feel like the iPhone brightness is better for me as well. V30 should be much better, right? I liked the Pixel screen when I tried it out at Best Buy today.

Given video footage and device images are in the wild we do know this isn't the case.

The device does appear to have 2.5d glass, but this is a mile away from having an 'edge' screen akin to the S8.

The term 2.5D curved does not means that it is curved, it consists little curvature at its edges. In other words, a 2.5D glass display is a flat 2D screen, but it won’t feature 90-degree glass edges.

Many devices have 2.5d glass including the 'flat' galaxy S7, Huawei Honor 8, Nexus 6p, Google Pixel & Pixel XL and even the iPhone 6 & 7 etc...

My G6 is easily as bright as my Pixel indoors and much brighter outdoors especially in sunlight where the pixel is very hard to see.

The auto-brightness sensor was however very slow to adjust initially. It has improved on most recent updates for international model but can still sometimes be slow or inexplicably lower brightness indoors at night to too low a level.

Pixel & Pixel XL both have a max nits rating of 445 indoors & outdoors.

The G6 has a max nits rating of 663 nits outdoors and 556 nits indoors.

Both pale against the S8 which has a max potential 1000 nits brightness outdoors.

Hopefully the + will be a larger screen, I'd love to see a "true" 6.3" screen, or at least 18:9 without curved edges. Although seeing the G6+ I guess the V30+ will just have more RAM/storage, sigh.

So when is the v30 rumored to be officially announced? Can't wait to see the pricing on it and specs.

No the + is merely a 128gb SKU

The G6+ only changed up storage especially over the regular 64gb Dual Sim variant where the + has actually launched such as Hong Kong & Taiwan.

So no upgrade to 6gb ram, it remained at 4gb.

The only thing the + gave you was 64gb extra.

They were making fun of the stylus/Note 8 - no chance the V30 will have a stylus :D

It's not out of the question. The LG Stylo 3 Plus that came out last May has a stylus. It's a budget phone with decent reviews. But it doesn't compare to the Spen.

Sounds like an audiophiles wet dream :)
I just hope LG learns to launch the V30 properly and globally and not just a random handful of arbitrary countries that V10 & V20 launched in.

Also, even if their is a price disparity between EU R.R.P. and price online from Asia. I would prefer to buy a European model rather than just import one from Hong Kong or Taiwan as I would at least get a proper 2 year warranty.

Lol, remind me to make fun of them when the v30 tanks. I think the v30 is awesome and would highly consider it, but for some reason LG phones like to tank. Maybe if they did put a stylus in it consumers would see something different and buy it.

I imagine the V30 is going to be priced around €750-799 here in Europe so similar $749-799 in USA, meaning I doubt we will see the G6 dropping any further as it's pretty much fallen as low as it can feasibly go and still offer retailers a tiny margin.
