Woohoo the live unveiling event is live in 10 minutes on Youtube :D

Giggles at the mispronunciation of Andrew Coughlin as 'Cofflin' when it should be 'Cocklin' ....

But phone itself looks lovely. This may be my next phone.

Lol Edit. This mispronunciation continues ..

Adrienne pronounced as male form Adrian
Qualcomm pronounced as Q-warl-com

Yep, them bragging about it being "the most beautiful smartphone to date" actually isn't exaggeration...

WTF, no price or availability announcment ?

Did I blink and miss it ...
Yeah same here, I was beginning to doubt my cognitive capabilities... Can't be a good sign that they'd rather not address those points on stage...

Wow, looks great. Not a fan of LG skin, hopefully the pixel 2 will take this same design. Looks nicer than the g6.

They seem to have simplified and made launcher gui more googlesque.

I've actually been looking at some videos on how to "googlefy" the g6, seems doable. Biggest concern for me is performance, the pixel i had was the best performing android phone I've ever had, not just overall ui but also in how 3rd apps performed as well.

Looking at a size chart this might be out of my comfort level, would need some hands on time. But it's definitely an impressive handset, ugh this plus the Note 8 isn't making my wait for my essential phone to come any easier.

Same 4GB RAM as V20? Looking forward to seeing that display in real life.

Does it have dual-OIS like the Note8?

Yep 4gb. The + variant only increases storage space to 128 but still has 4gb.

As for dual OIS - not sure if the wide angle has ois or eis

I like the camera/ video features. I've already bought the note 8 but I could pick up a second phone this year. I'll have to wait and see what the pixel 2 brings. Android phones have a lot going on this year!

Can't remember.
I remember not getting pricing or availability for a couple of weeks after it launched.

Yeah, and there doesn't seem to be Dual OIS, going by all the hands-on videos.

Ah well, I'll continue with my Note8 order.

Good to see LG and Samsung going at with the phablets though, I am excited to see that LG OLED.

Looks fantastic, think they've nailed almost everything! A few points:

- I don't think the wide-angle lens has OIS
- Pre-orders should start on 17 September, with an on sale date of 28 September
- Price, no idea

There's very little to fault with this, other than potentially 4GB and the skin. Also I wonder what the speakers are like.

But once this falls in price (e.g. by Xmas) I can see LG shifting a LOT of these badboys!

4gb on the G6 allows up-to 15 apps running in background and switching between them without hassles - even though it is skinned LG has a lot less 'additional' services running in background compared to Samsung for example. Everything is heavily integrated with Google reducing those extra redundant services that offer little but eat up ram and battery.

Honestly 4gb is not a concern for me, price and availability are however.

Out of interest, how did the price of the V20 fall last year?

I know the G6 dropped quickly but I've never really followed the V range closely.

V20 has fallen hugely on Asian import sites. It's literally around €310 at moment ...

Not sure the speed at which it dropped, but wouldn't surprise me if by December the V30 is sitting around €500

Looks good, but I sincerely don't see it as a huge improvement over the G6. Only true improvements are the POLED screen and the snapdragon 835, plus the DAC.

I still like the G6 better for two reasons: IPS screen (I prefer them over OLED) and way way cheaper. Right now I can find it at 350€ second hand, and I'm patiently waiting for it to drop even more before upgrading to it (also the Huawei P10 Plus with 6GB RAM, dual cameras, 5.5 IPS screen, 128GB storage, 3700 battery is very tempting).

I don't need the highest quality flagship anymore. Something like the G6 for 300€ is more than enough for me.
