Hoping it's available on U.S. carriers. That blue one is STUNNING, wow.
It's definitely not a better display. You will see more detailed reviews to come but most people fail to notice Samsung has 3 screen setting modes and make their assumptions off of adaptive display mode.
Hmm he says it's a better display than his s8. Impressive
Looks nice but nothing that would lure me away from the Note 8. I prefer LG's camera set up but all other things being equal that skin is still hideous.
Not even the iPhone 8 or Google Pixel 2?
Can you take photos with the VG30 while shooting video?
I've been on Samsung devices for awhile for personal use and that's a feature I use quite a bit. I might switch to the LG though next time I buy a phone. Although the forward camera is 5 vs 8 on the S8
Back on topic: tell me how if you purchased a G6 recently you're not COMPLETELY annoyed at this phone? It is almost literally a G6 with all the features you were told the G6 didn't really need.
As of *right now* there is NOTHING that interests me about the new iPhone. This is mostly tied to iOS 11. I hate what they're doing to notifications and the notification shade. It seems like they're making it less functional. The new system tray or whatever it's called looks like a straight up mess. I'm happy they're trying to provide more options but it's so cluttered after a certain point I don't see the utility of using it vs simply going into your settings. The new form factor is whatever. A bezel-less OLED iPhone will be pretty, I'm sure. I just don't care. And if there's no touch ID, I'm totally out. Regardless of how good they promise face recognition will be. As I learned with Sammy, holding the phone up to your face to unlock to pay for something in a store looks dorky and takes longer than just swiping a credit card.
Pixel XL 2 still interests me because I do like stock but I'm tired of the Nexus/Pixel program in which it's the Cabbage Patch doll of the smartphone world, with people having to swoop in like vultures to try to get an order in before it disappears for a few weeks. I'd like to have Oreo but the leap from Nougat isn't so great that I'll notice. And I know you don't have to use it, but I find the new dot notification on apps reeeeeeeeeeeaalllllly stupid and useless. Google is going in the opposite direction of Apple here, in which they're giving you a billion different ways to be notified of the same thing.
SO, we're left with what to me looks like the "just right" porridge of the Note 8. 1) I've always loved the Note series and was heartbroken over what happened to the 7 last year 2) I've greatly enjoyed my Sammy S8 Plus, and this is a better version of that phone. 3) I don't use it often but when I need it, the S-pen is completely baller.
Apologies for the long post in a LG thread to everyone else.

I think given the V30 will likely launch $799 or higher, the fact that you've spent $450 on a G6 (saving $300-350) is enough of a comfort to not feel too much of a blow
Didn't purchase a LG G6 yet. Was close last night at $390. I am going to hold out to find more info on the Note 8 BOGO so I can use that as an alternative to the G6 or iPhone 8 if the deal lasts till the 15th.
It's a Go!
So does this mean he is now receiving review units and not buying them with his own money like in the past?

Oh my goodness I love the AOD slider that lets you pull up the flashlight without turning the phone on. I am always using my phone flashlights. I live out in a semi rural area. People who share that lifestyle know you're always finding yourself investigating some noise or other when you least expect it and don't want to be running back indoors for the flashlight. It's a great convenience to have an interface that lets you get at the flashlight fast. My phone light has saved me from tripping over skunks. Or from petting a trash panda, thinking it's my neighbor's cat. It's a Go!
