Do any of you think it's likely that LR will be Yosemite only?

That will be what finally pushes me over the edge to update.

It's 10.8 or above:

Do we know what time Lightroom 6 is likely to be available from? Will it be midnight US or do you think release will be staggered?

Prior releases of Lightroom consisted of Adobe releasing a public beta, which was available for a couple of months and then the actual release. This time without a mention of a beta means we're in uncharted territory and its hard to pin down how Adobe will do this.

Which suggests all we may well get tomorrow is a beta? :(

Just update anyway and stop worrying so much about an OS.

It really is a piece of junk. Not only did they strip away a ton of features, but what's there doesn't feel finished. I also really don't like navigation paradigm for getting around the app.

I can't believe anyone thought it would replace Aperture or even begin to compete with Lightroom. Apple really don't seem interested in the professional market at all. Photos is basically just a desktop version of the iOS app. Very, very basic photo editing tools. I wonder what future awaits the rest of Apple's professional apps.

If we get anything tomorrow it will likely be the release. The leak was from I believe a French website showing a shipping product on 3/9. It's possible that was completely wrong or that it's been changed, but if the original leak was correct, we should expect the final product.

Regardless of whether it comes tomorrow or not, it will be coming soon. It will be nice if it's tomorrow though :).

Up until the news link on the OP, I was expecting to see a beta roll out, but so far it seems this time Adobe may not be doing that. I think the extended period of time since LR5 was released also adds to the evidence that it will not be a beta rollout, i.e., They're already been working on this for some time.

Are there any hints on the pricing? Will it maintain the LR 5 price for a standalone grated there IS a stand alone?

Thank you. That was inspirational.

likely Adobe will follow their previous pricing of $150 for a new copy and $79 for a upgrade from LR5.

Well, the day has arrived. It's officially March 9th here in the UK and I keep checking various sources to see if we've had even a morsel of further information on Lightroom 6. Although now I'm beginning to presume anything that happens will happen on US time, so probably gonna have to wait until later in the day.

You need to wait until later on. Its only 6:21am here on the east coast and 3:21am on the west. I wouldn't expect to see anything until 1:00pm (my time).

Comment from Jeff Schewe as to whether it will happen today was "Don't hold your breath."

Check back after lunch time.

I've been holding back processing my latest batch of photos for LR6. I guess I'll try it with my next batch.
