Itunes 12.0.1 already installed

The Mac App store is telling me to download and instal iTunes 12.0.1 but I've downloaded this several times already going back three weeks.

Why is it telling me to instal an App I already have the latest version of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That happened to me. I had to go to the App Store and download it directly from there. It no longer showed up in updates after that.

Hi,

well I'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to computers.
I've got a Macbook pro which is just a couple years old.
But I installed the Yosemite upgrade and my main apps won't start anymore.
- Safari
- Facetime
- App store
- Notes
- Calendar
- Contacts
...
Don't really know what to do now.
Anyone?

No idea ... sorry, but maybe you should try taking it to the Apple Store? Or you could just do a clean install if you have all your files backed up.

Yahoo Messenger

Well, outdated garbage it may be, but most of my online friends are found there. I need it. Maybe I'm missing something, but how, in what I think is a really garbage program - Messages - do you:
1) Use a web cam in Yahoo messenger chats?
2) Find the historical record of chats with buddies that were automatically saved in Yahoo Messenger?

I don't know if someone else has mentioned this but Messages has built in support for Yahoo Messenger. Along with Google Talk and AIM.

The Yahoo Messenger app is outdated garbage. If it doesn't work then I'm glad as it will encourage more people to use the built in Messages app.

1Password runs flawlessly so I'm guessing these lists are outdated. So far I haven't found much that doesn't run. Parallels shouldn't be a surprise if it isn't running properly. CleanMyMac isn't compatible but they'll prompt you to download a beta version they have for the Yosemite beta that runs fine.

Firefox and Chrome are flawless. They just look ugly as all hell on Yosemite. Of course, my perspective is from beta 2. I suppose compatibilities could break with certain DPs.

You perhaps can't. Apple is trying though by adding in the API for the chat service. Yahoo can be blamed for not properly maintaining their app. Or your contacts for using the outdated service. :p (jk)

The 10.10.1 update got forced on me for some reason when my mac was sleeping even though I've never had auto updates turned on.

Safari's basically broken. Just maddeningly slow.

Great.

Installed 10.10.1 and had other problems --Safari was fine. On advice of Apple, I reinstalled 10.10.1 to correct the other problems and developed a problem with Safari. When I open Safari to the Apple Home Page, the animation isn't right and the page opens in segments.

Problem Apps

1. Logs keep telling me something in Aperture is obsolete and will be phased out, but it is being used although the logs don't say what it is. The only operation that was continuous was Photo-Stream and when I disabled it, I stopped getting the notice. Also, I noticed that my email Account is no longer noted in Aperture.
2. Problems with iLife Media Browser (ILMB Photos Plug-in) since updating to 10.10.1. Logs say it is either missing or damaged. But, I can access all photos via Media Browser on all programs in which I would use them (Mail, Pages, etc.).
3. Problems with iTunes since updating to 10.10.1. Music skips and restarts although it never did that before.
4. Problem syncing iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. They take a while to show up in iTunes in order to sync.
5. Problem doing IOS update via Mac iTunes rather than WiFi. Neither device remounts on Mac at the end of the update and I'm informed that a session ID is missing. The update is completed, however, (I assume) by WiFi. This is happening on all Macs in my household and to all members of my family, all on 10.10.1 as it did on 10.10.
6. A reinstallation of 10.10.1 did not do much to correct problems.

Keep Drive Spinning March 2014 release is broken. Sadly, the only alternative is the $9.99 Disksomnia. Hopefully this gets updated soon.
