I called my local Apple Store 10 minutes ago. They said they have all the promotional stuff in the back but have not received a call from corporate to put it up yet so they do not know when the units will come.
 
just called ADC and had my shipping upgraded to 2-3 day free of charge.

Still ships by the 7th, of course, 1.8/80hd cto.

I noticed that in some of your other posts / forums / on Craigslist you are offering to pay airfare for someone to personally deliver you a MacBook Air. I actually possess one, but it's at my beach-house in Hawaii. Please buy me a round-trip fare from Virginia to Honolulu. When I get there, I'll pack up the Air and UPS Sonic it over to you, same day. You'll, of course, have to pay the shipping rate on that. If you could have my return flight from Hawaii be sometime next week, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's a bit of a burden to me, but don't worry, you don't have to pay me for my services. Lord knows that you probably need this so urgently for a good reason. You're welcome!

This Week in Los Angeles - confirmed

Went to one of the LA Apple Stores & was told the MBA's will DEFINITELY be in this week - 80G and 64G SSD.

I'll be going there every day, to cancel my not-yet-shipped one when I've got the new one in my hands.

I'll most likely do the same, if I don't see any movement from China by tomorrow. :)
 
I'll be at the Sherman Oaks store at 10 AM sharp...hopefully they have the SSD...otherwise I have to drive all the way to the 3rd st. Santa Monica store or the Northridge store...

I'm just worried that if i don't cancel it today it will ship tomorrow and will be too late to cancel and it will show up in the stores on Friday and my house saturday or monday.

I think people who got there shipping upgraded to overnight, will ship out tomorrow because their macbook air's are already in the US. It seem to me that apple in shipping out the 2 to 3 day orders from china and holding the other orders so that everyone gets them at the same time.

how did you get that info from?

i think all of them are shipped from china
and will be shipped overnight when it get to the big shipping stations

and selling one to me if I'm in need? :) I have all this cash from a failed attempt to acquire one yesterday...still very pissed about that, almost felt like I was on Punk'd waiting for this mongrel yesterday.
 
I ordered on jan 15th (after the keynote)
standard 1.6/80hd and shipping date of feb 6th..
my order still says "not yet shipped"
This blows!
 
just checked at marlton nj apple store. No air and they said probably next week. I do think those who preordered will get their machine first or at least same time as store because they ship out at same time. Mine still says prepared to ship.
 
It seems strange that there is such a discrepancy among those of us who ordered the standard configuration on the day of the keynote. My order is showing "Prepared for Shipment," but no charge has been made to my credit card. I haven't made any changes to shipping and chose 2-3 day on checkout.
 
Shipping status

Here is an update..

I just got off the phone with Apple Sales Support, I was wanting to change my shipping method to "expedited" from "standard" and they told me not to bother it would get there the same day. I ordered a 1.8/80G with Ethernet on Jan 21st 8AM EST and my shipping dates have not changed, Feb 12 with delivery on the 22nd.

I hope some of you are right and we get them early. I have ordered many times online for myself, family and friends and I usually get it very quickly when I pick the "expedited" service. The most has been 3 days here in Canada, usually after it ships 1-2 days and the FedEx truck shows up at the door.

As did I, but I ordered literally after the keynote as soon as I could. I imagine that someone who ordered later that day could be a part of a second "wave" of computers to be shipped. "Prepared for shipment" implies that it's just awaiting Fedex to come and pick it up.

I ordered mine less than two minutes after the store went back up on the 15th. I ordered the base config, nothing different and choose 2-3 day shipping(fastest avaliable). NO CHANGE!

I called Apple and they said that none have shipped. I told them that I know of many people's that has shipped. He continued to say that none have shipped, and then spoke to a manager, who said the the same thing! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!?
