they don't use security slots at apple - they use an ethernet chord that sounds an alarm if unplugged. i'm sure the thing plugged into the usb port is exactly that.
That's my plan.
Since I'm an acsa, and below hardware certifications, I can look up the part information.
The logic boards are the same, same PATA connector ribbon, same mounting brackets (According to AppleCare warranty documentation). I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.
So friday is it now?!!!!! I can't believe I've missed so much since just leaving for a few hours. Flippin in store demo's. No store I called here had that today.
Tomorrow I'll find out for sure if Apple calls to cancel my Personal Shopper appt in the morning.
The Apple store I'll be going to was "we can get you in right in the morning before people come in like crazy" so that sounds to me like this is a Open in the morning deal.

I think that Memphis is one of the places they sometimes bust up bulk shipments of new stuff into the individual orders. I remember getting a 2nd gen nano that way once when I had expected it would be like my first mini iPod and tracking it from China, but the nano just showed up as coming from Memphis.
From how the guy at the local store has been treating me, giving me great advice and all, it does seem like Friday is the day.

Same here Cliff.... I'm leaving for business Saturday afternoon so if it isnt going to arrive on Friday, I might just run down to the store on Friday morning and pick one up.
