If I didn't miss anything, Apple is shipping only standard configs to the US, as the European customers will get the SSD-version first ... A bit weired, isn't it?

With 14 hours ahead of CST that would mean my MBA has been sitting in a FEDEX facility for almost 24 hours!:mad::mad:

Apple Info:

MACBOOK AIR 13/1.6/2GB/80GB-USA
Ordered: Jan 15, 2008 at 11:57 AM PST
Shipped on: Jan 30, 2008 via FEDERAL EXPRESS

FEDEX INfo 1/31/08 6:20CST:
Jan 30, 2008

11:58 AM Left origin SHANGHAI CN
11:48 AM Picked up SHANGHAI CN
Package received after FedEx cutoff
9:03 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx

Mine says the same. It has done nothing for 24 hours.... A big bummer. I have now adjusted my expectations to Monday delivery although they promised overnight.

Still Waiting on 1.8/SSD

Looks like my MBA 1.8/SSD is being "prepared for shipment" too! I ordered around 10:41am PST with an initial ship date of Feb 6... Spending way too much time looking at this...

Any thoughts as to whether this will ship in the next day or so?... based on the lag on other orders' status changing from "prepared for shipment" to "shipped"?

Thanks
I placed my 1.8/SSD order at 12:13 PM PST, 1.5 hours after you did... still "Not Yet Shipped" for me. :(

This waiting is killing me...

If this had been UPS, I would have had my Air today. It would have gone from the sort facility to a truck before 7am. But noooo, the FedEx employees can't be bothered to move that fast.

If the shipping label said deliver it today, the computers and people would have made it happen within those 8 minutes. But based on what service Apple paid for, it says it's expected to be delivered tomorrow. Therefore the systems of FedEx figured they have 24 hours and 8 minutes to get it on the local truck.

It has nothing to do with UPS vs. FedEx, and instead is purely logistical planning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logistics

Thanks for the lesson, Professor. Now forward that link to UPS who routinely deliver my packages before their guaranteed delivery date.

Let me know too, I think we are all on the same flight. Does Fedex send packages on JetBlue?

Mine still says prepared for shipment. It's been that way all night. I wonder if Apple is trying for a mass delivery on Feb 1st for everyone.

OK here is what fed ex said they are on the way, and still might make friday delivery BUT a special dept handles Apples orders, they are closed....I might NOT be able to pick up in person, but she did say that since I have overnight there is a chance of me getting it tomorrow....

I still think its not in the Air as of yet...but hope I am wrong!

I think this helps prove an earlier point that the Airs were deigned by Apple to be in our hands on Friday, not matter which kind of shipping we chose...
