The X panel is an Apple design, and manufactured by Samsung.

The X panel is all new and not a commercial off the shelf purchase from the Samsung Galaxy S6 parts bin.

It can, but there's still people who don't want to acknowledge Displaymate's rating of the X having the best display right now even though there was no issue when the note 8 received this rating before the X was released. But I'm sure if/when the s9 comes, if it's rated better by displaymate it'll be posted here asap lol

Thankfully they used a good quality Display, at least the iPhone X has turned to do something well, the Apple apologists needed something to clutch on to, been a rough one since the Note8 arrived.

Pretty sure there's now a video of an Xperia XZ Premium handing the iPhone X an L.

See this is the thing, Diplaymate has tested only few mobile displays out of hundreds. I understand they've tested only the popular phone models but that is so far away from being relevant.

And once again my eye can still tell the hue shift and white flicker on any OLED mobile screen so far. Didn't play with the X but I'm sure it will be the same story as it's still based on same cheap OLED tech that goes behind mobile displays.
