I think that's a bit of an overstatement isn't it? There's just a ton of esoteric setups and drivers to get working, most of the issues we saw early on are clearly just waiting for driver updates. 11.2 isn't even out yet, I wouldn't be surprised if that helps massively with the Thunderbolt sleep issues.
How that 11.2 work out for you? LoL

It’s Apple Silicon not properly controlling Thunderbolt (developed by Intel) devices to go to sleep. Apple knows, hasn’t fixed it. I emailed a senior VP months ago. No reply.
Your only solution is to disable sleep in control panel and waste tons of energy. Because apple is WokeAF LoL.
