Never used a screen protector for iPad
but I should since I might want to trade in later down the line. Is it pretty much like the phones same brands make the good ones?

Just set up from 2018 IPP (transfer & wipe) no issues with set up, but ProCreate is not working - can’t paint/anything with pencil 2. Turned off hover and nothing. Just posting about my issues, heading over to the procreate forums.

Pretty much yup. Been using one on my iPads for years without issue.
How is it working out for the M2 version? I ask as it was a miserable experience with the 2018 11" and I just gave up. It wasn't sensitive enough for drawing with the protector on.

I have the 11” M1 and no issues with sensitivity. I used the amFilm tempered glass screen protector. Advertised as ultra sensitive and it seems to live up to that

How difficult/easy was the installation of this protector?
I don’t remember it being too difficult. It has tabs on either side to hold onto while you place it down. Another good one is the spigen screen protector that actually comes with an alignment kit to make the installation even easier.

Just put this one on my 12.9" yesterday. I also do the shower trick where I steam up the bathroom with a hot shower and apply the protector in there. I also use a bright flashlight at an angle to see any specks that might pop up before I drop the protector down. I'm *super* picky about not having dust under the screen, so it works great. The amFilm fits very nicely.

Good tips. I recently put on an ESR paprerlike on my 12.9 and it was a fairy straightforward process, but the protector came with a frame to make it easier. I am very OCD when it comes to not having dust or god forbid bubbles.

And those things you do are the reason I no longer bother with screen protectors. And no matter how careful you are, that one spec of dust still manages to get in there.

If you clean your screen with a microfiber cloth from time to time and watch for debris on the screen while you swipe or pencil, you will be fine. I never had a scratch.

Sadly with my 11" Pro, back when there was a software bug and screen protectors actually had an issue with inconsistent contact on the screen if you didn't have a thumb on the metal side, I left one off mine, and got a scratch from wiping the screen using a microfiber cloth. Hazards of living in a desert climate, even if the iPad is indoors all the time -- sand/dust happen. :(

So yeah, screen protectors are a must for me now. Luckily on the 11" Pro, a software update a month or two later fixed the contact glitch and it was fine with a screen protector after that (and you couldn't see the micro scratch at least).
