It's just a lowly M2 Max 12/30/16 with 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It's just for a server computer at the office. My personal office is an M1 Ultra Studio with 128 RAM and 8TB SSD. They are great little machines.

My BTO was a standard M2 Max with 1TB SSD... Ordered the 13th. It finally shipped - via FedEx (not sure how they choose UPS or FedEx) but tracking shows that it 'missed' the Fedex cutoff.

It seems to be sitting on a curb some place in Hong Kong. - delivery some time, TBD, next week.

The Mac Studio Ultra M1 GPU was not strong enough for my workflow, so last night, I finally decided to kick the tires on the new M2. With that being said, I ordered a Mac Studio Ultra M2 this morning at 1:30am and it was delivered by 11:30am.

Not bad! I just checked shipping times across the pond and the estimated delivery window just slipped a couple weeks, looks like-- more than a month turn around for anything BTO right now it looks like. Maybe I need to get my order in sooner than I was planning...

Indeed the shipping is getting later and later, though fingers crossed it ships a bit sooner.. this is the most money ive ever spent in my entire life. Selling everything i owned , including my entire pc , this is going to be so cool ❤️

Ah, I haven’t ordered. But what I plan on is:

M2 Max, 30 core GPU
64gb RAM
1TB storage

It seems that stock models are still relatively quickly available for now, but any kind of BTO option is pushing it out 3-5 weeks apparently.

Maybe! I also don’t know how ship times differ for different markets… if you go spec another one out with BTO options, does it still give you a similar timeframe?

Still says 7-11 July if i spec a new one of the same spec. I guess they may have some base models with 38 core gpu laying around as well, and its the more complex orders they are shipping later ?

Interesting. Maybe it’s just a separate queue and it’s just not as backed up as the one here? Who knows. Even just using the 38 core GPU is a BTO option has the same delay here, and your ship time is long enough out that I don’t imagine it’s just sitting around somewhere, though I could be wrong

I flirted with the M1 Studio last year and played this game for months… looking at ship times and wondering what was adding so much time to then. 😂

It’s very interesting indeed… yea I toyed With the M1 Studio 24 core , i had it for 2 weeks before i sold it , because i new I’d found the machine for my development and my life as a flight simmer. i dumped my entire gaming pc for this, i am essentially computer less for 2 weeks 😂

Just going from 128GB to 192GB RAM makes the ETA jump like two weeks. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Don’t remember that being the case a week ago. Good times tho. Can’t wait!

And interestingly, delivery times are way back down again-- 1-2 weeks for BTO again, looks like (with the exception of that 192gb option on the Ultra which adds a couple more weeks). Phew! Sometimes I get tempted to upgrade to the Ultra just to be able to get a "stock" model more quickly (since it would come with the same 1tb storage and 64gb ram... just a lot more CPU/GPU 🤣)

I'm just holding my order for a couple weeks because I'm working on my home office space and don't want to order before I'm ready to get it set up. Hopefully mid-July I can pull the trigger

wow people here are lucky. I ordered an m2 ultra on june 6. initial delivery date was june 28-july 5 to canada, but today they just changed it to july 20-27. not sure what i did wrong…

I wonder if they have some BTO options which are just made along with stock, some of the more simpler, for mine it’s literally a base model, with just the 38 core gpu , @am2023 i hope you get your machine quick my dear xx I hate waiting, ive resorted to watching Smallville again to pass the time 😂
