Mounted mine underneath my desk, where my M1 Mini was. No issues with the power button for me.

Does this only support ONE nVME (“up to 4TB”)? Seems like a missed opportunity…
It really makes no sense why 4TB is the limit, while 8TB NVMe drives have existed for a while.

I'm not aware of any actual 4TB storage limit to any modern storage enclosures. I've exceeded "up to TB" storage on a lot of storage devices in the past, which was mostly dependent on the maximum capacity of hard drives sold during time of development/production of said enclosure.

I've preordered the RayCue unit because I realised that I don't need storage at TB5 speeds for a secondary drive. I also like the design. I'll provide updates if/when it arrives.

P.S "RAYCUE20" for a 20% discount at checkout 👍
RayCue is Thunderbolt 4? Do we know if that's true of the Satechi as well?

A person here in Japan is selling these 3D Printer Self-Made Push Button Stands.

It works really well with little pressure on the top of the Mac Mini M4.

It has little "fingers" in each corner that fits into the "Grill" on the bottome of the Mac Mini M4, preventing it from moving Clockwise/Counter-Clockwise and for the most part Up/Down.

I used a small strip of dowuble sided tape between the stand and the middle/bottom of the Mac Mini M4.

I paid ¥980 (US$6.50), Shipped.

Saw this brilliant idea elsewhere lol. Less than a dollar, can be found in any kitchen supply store.

Here's the link to the 3D Model that can be downloaded for 3D Printing...which is where the guy that I bought the finished product from, got the files from...

Or if he can place the printable STL/3MF file online - then it can be easily printed.....

Look at my post #160 above...Also, not everyone wants to put out the URL of the 3D Files...perhaps like this guy that I bought the stand from...and not everyone has a 3D printer or access to one or just doesn't want to go through the hassle, when they can just buy one already made for US$6.50...

What are Docks, and how are they used with a Mini? Are they necessary or just a luxury item?
I'm trying to figure out everything I need to purchase before switching from a Windows computer to an Apple home computer.

"Dock" and "hub" are sometimes used interchangeably, but a dock is designed for using a laptop with an external monitor. The laptop "docks" to the dock with a single cable, then everything else plugs into the dock, too (monitor and accessories). The dock will also have its own power supply (wall plug), so that it can power and charge what's plugged into it.

If you're using a Mini the docks and hubs are also very useful because they give you additional ports. USB-A and USB-C, HDMI, and sometimes SD card readers and enclosures for SSD drives.

Whether a dock is a luxury or necessity depends on how many things you want to plug into the Mini. For example, a Thunderbolt 5 dock can let you run 2 or 3 monitors out of the dock, which means you're only using one of your three Mini ports to connect 2 or 3 devices.

Thanks for the great explanation. I'll be getting a dock for the Mini when I order it. I'm holding out for a possible BF sale.

The RayCue site has been updated with some pictures of the actual product (not just renders) and some more information (and more renders...)

The fact that the RayCue doesn't have the text on the front under each port (compared to the satechi) is a huge bonus for me. I also like the ports and their placement on this better than the satechi. Thanks for sharing the info on this!

There is a cut out for the power button.

They also make a version with just the stand and no dock, so you can put your own SSD enclosure or dock below it.

Also, I just got clarification from Alibaba on the difference between the two models.

MC60 - Without HDMI

MC60H - With HDMI - About $20 more in price

It is only indicated within "Key attributes/Other attributes"
