I believe Colorii is the actual OEM.

Don't have a mac Mini yet but looks like a quick easy print!
After using this 3D Printed Standoff for about 1 week now...there is a problem...on occasion, the Mac Mini M4 will reboot and go to the Logon Screen showing the internal SSD and the Option Icon. It is because the 3D Printed Stand's Power Button Push Leg is so close to the Power Button, that on occasion it triggers the Power Button and the Mac thinks that the user pushed it rather than doing a proper Power Down. So just to check to see if that was the cause, I flipped the Mac Mini M4 over and now it NEVER recycles the power. I guess the solution would be to shave off a 0.5 or less slice off of the Power Button push leg. I may do that when I have nothing else to do. Just wanted to let everyone know of this problem.

I’ve printed/designed something different based on another power button design, doubles up as a CFexpress card reader, mine works flawlessly.

Will a stand leaving the bottom of the Mini elevated actually help with ventilation?

That's what I'm wondering, too. With the fan grilles around the base being both air intake and exhaust (on opposite sides), does it perhaps require the desk surface to keep the streams from crossing (so to speak)?

The streams kind of fire outwards anyway, so the presence of a flat surface clearing it simply narrows the available escape space. That is, removing that plane by elevation should help by increasing available escape volume.

But really the best orientation for ventilation has to be sideways but exhaust facing upwards.

I have been waiting to update my old 2012 Mini and I have a ton of older peripherals - Blu-ray dvd burner, high resolution flatbed scanner, Das Keyboard with TWO usb-a cables, and I panicked about the lack of ports on the new mini. But now I learn of all these excellent docks. Other than design visuals, how do you compare the various brands? Does one manufacturer use better components for the port internals? Is it better to buy a third party SSD for the base, or take the one from the manufacturer? Is there a manufacturer with a better reputation for quality and support?

I'm assuming you're upgrading to another Mac desktop, and not to a laptop. If so:

If your budget allows for it, I would recommend a Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 dock, not one of the USB 3 docks. For example, Apple effectively endorses this dock. Or what you could do is what I've done, which is to buy a Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 hub, and then hang an additional USB-C hub off it.

For an external SSD, I would recommend a separate USB 4 enclosure with a good heatsink-like design, paired with an SSD. This will not only be much faster than a USB 3 SSD, it will likely also be more reliable.

Looks like another product similar to Colorii popped up on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DP9JM1Z...XEF_1&peakEvent=5&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1
Colorii is the OEM. They're actually the exact some ones. (BTW, there are two versions, one with HDMI and one without.)

GEWOKLIY rebrands them, just like Qwiizlab.

Oh good to know! I missed your last message about that. Looks interesting

Yeah, I usually keep hardware a long time because I don’t push it that much. Mostly photo editing and a little design work. I try to buy the current spec because by the time I get a new one it’s … not very current any more. But a lot of the old peripherals are very solid and reliable and work well enough, they just have outdated interfaces.

My solution to the problem of reaching the On/Off button.

There is a cut out for the power button.

They also make a version with just the stand and no dock, so you can put your own SSD enclosure or dock below it.

Colorii also states about 100 times in the comments for the video that they are actively working on a USB4 version. I am going to be very interested in that one!
