Just a dedicated hdmi out rather than waiting till august for a mini display port with audio to hdmi.

I don't like the idea of the little dongle as it uses a built in USB sound card which adds to systems resources.

Can't think of anything else I would like. If I wants monster gfx etc I'd buy a larger machine

If it had discrete graphics and support for up to 8G RAM I would have bought one instead of the refurb iMac I bought....of course then Apple would have lost out on about 800 bucks.

I could go without one of the display ports, probably the DVI since the Mini Display can handle all things if only Apple would open up audio

I use both ports all the time, one to my display, the other to my TV. Remember the mini is a great media centre.

Apple doesn't lose the money... It doesn't mean that Mac Pro has the biggest profit because it's the most expensive. iPhone costs ~70€ to make and Apple sells it for 500€. Mini can have better profit than iMac

^^^ HDMI would be through an adapter on the Mini Display Port as it is now

I guess I mean a real HDMI port with audio. The display port doesn't allow for audio so that really doesn't work for me. I'm fine right now with DVI to the TV and optical to the receiver, but if I could change it, I would go with one connection and let it be.

HDMI is more than just making a new logic board with HDMI. All kinda licensing contracts and fees before it's done

Yes a licence fee applies if a company decides to punch Audi and video through hdmi but cummon it's a must have in this day and age. Can you honestly tell me your happy that you need to pay for a dongle that will sap additional CPU cycles to intergrate bot video and audio in one line?

I think it would be even better if Apple would allow for audio over mDP. This would allow for perfect integration with HDMI without the licensing ;)

I like the mini where it is. I think there should be a Mac tower thats not a Pro - but I know that wont happen any time soon (maybe ever).

I would like to see an all aluminum design (or cheese grater look as someone mentioned) OR a black top.

Easier to get inside and last but not least an esata connector.

1)Faster processor. What's in it right now, is bottom of the barrel, and so, so, outdated.

2)Let it go to 8GB RAM

3)Case re-design - alum would be nice

4)Better audio DA converter

5)Another FW port

And I'd be in heaven. Odds of this happening: 0.

A quad-core should be standard, as well as HDMI for sure. Honestly, Apple's skimping big time on the Mac Mini, and there's no way they can say they don't know it. Here's to hoping they're putting aside some of that funny money now to make the next batch more worthwhile -- the Mini's always been a good idea, but one that's always been a bit too wimpy to justify a purchase.

If Apple doesn't put quad core (Clarksfield) into the iMacs, its not going into the Mac Minis.

i wouldn't say it's out dated. but how can you upgrade Apple's 'bottom of the line' desktop model when their mid range desktop starts at 2.66?

the whole point of the Mac mini is to have a good, affordable computer. keep in mind the faster clock speeds=more heat which in turn means shorter hard drive life and more servicing from Apple

I have noticed that each generation of the Mac Mini is about .5GHz slower than each generation of the iMac.

Blue-Ray SuperDrive
HDMI output with Audio
Cheaper Price

The new FCS has built-in Blu-Ray support. I think QT in SL will support Blu-Ray.

I hope Apple releases a 20in LED Cinema Display for $299 and a new mighty mouse, I will definitely buy them to pair it with my Mac Mini.

20'' is too small.

I think the MM should be something like the G4 Cube... except without the epic failure part. Make it a little taller for better heat dissipation, faster processors, 3.5" HDD's, and 8GB RAM max.

Any taller and it would be massively ugly. 3.5'' HDD is too wide.

And for all of you wanting a C2Q, forget it. There isn't a mobile C2Q, it gets too hot, consumes too much power, and costs too much.

I think Apple should have a six square product strategy.

Left End: Least costly; Netbook and Mac mini

Middle: Standard; iMac and MacBook

Right: Pro; MBP and Mac Pro.

I really like the current generation.

I would like it to be easier to get at the HDD/memory, but other than that, I have all the ports I'd waited for.

I dislike their power cable though. The connector seems easy to knock out. Also, it would be nice if the brick were closer to one end instead of the middle. It makes it harder to wrap the cables up into something nice.

It's a good thing my monitor has a (powered) USB 2.0 hub because I really need more USBs. A few more FW couldn't hurt, either. I've got an external HDD, camcorder, and some experimentation that all go through FW.
