Still have a 2018 I7 Space Gray. While the M4 Pro version will scream, I don't love front facing ports and only silver option.

why the hell is the audio jack in the front? how am I supposed to connect my speakers into it?

I just ordered the base model with 512Gb SSD and this will be my first M series Mac. I’m upgrading from a 2017 13 inch MacBook Pro. This mini is going to a beast in comparison!

The power button is on the bottom
I'm surprised there isn't another USB-C port down there too.

Apple's new redesigned Mac mini with M4 Pro chip features three Thunderbolt 5 ports, the newest specification of Thunderbolt that offers speeds of up to 120 Gb/s, which is double the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4.
There goes some sales that might have been for the Mac Studio because that won't see an update until 2025. But nice to see a modernization reflected by the changes against M4/M4 Pro Mac mini. Its would be nice if the Studio Display got a update also.

I was waiting for those M4 Mac Studios so I can finish my editors transition from all the Intel macs I've still got hanging around..... suddenly I'm thinking this Mac Mini will do the job just nicely instead!

What monitor would you pair with this (not including the Studio display and Pro XDR displays in their current form)?
There are plenty of 4K 240hz OLED and QD-OLED monitors in the market like

1. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP
2. LG 32GS95UE-B
3. Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240
4. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM
5. Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P
6. MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED
7. Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G80SD S32DG80
8. Dell Alienware AW3225QF

Dishonorable mention (No firmware updates)
9. MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED

It's for headphones, which makes sense to me.

For audio out in the back: USB-C, hdmi/audio-out splitter, hdmi monitor with audio-out jack (like my Dell).
First I thought they just added a second jack for headphones. Moving it from back is a bizarre design for a desktop computer where most users use their own speakers.
