Yeah when RAM costs $200 per 8gb and 256gb of storage cost $200. It's like you're getting the computer for free.
It will be. The studio comes with a max or ultra proc, which the Mini tops out at a Pro proc, so there is room to grow.
How else are they going to get that “2,500x faster than a PC” benchmark!
I just ordered the base model with 512Gb SSD and this will be my first M series Mac. I’m upgrading from a 2017 13 inch MacBook Pro. This mini is going to a beast in comparison!
He called a machine with soldered ram and ssd versatile with a straight face. A+ performance, again.
It's for headphones, which makes sense to me.
For audio out in the back: USB-C, hdmi/audio-out splitter, hdmi monitor with audio-out jack (like my Dell).
LOL! Apple also raised the price of the M4 Pro mini by a $100 from the M2 Pro version to account for the extra 8GB of base DRAM the M4 version that now comes with at 24GB.😂😂😂
There goes some sales that might have been for the Mac Studio because that won't see an update until 2025. But nice to see a modernization reflected by the changes against M4/M4 Pro Mac mini. Its would be nice if the Studio Display got a update also.

I was waiting for those M4 Mac Studios so I can finish my editors transition from all the Intel macs I've still got hanging around..... suddenly I'm thinking this Mac Mini will do the job just nicely instead!

The M4Pro Mini is faster than the M1Max Studio, but that is 2.5 years and 3 generations older.
Put it against an M1Ultra or M2Max an the tables will be turned even before M4Max/Ultra Studios come along (tomorrow?).

First I thought they just added a second jack for headphones. Moving it from back is a bizarre design for a desktop computer where most users use their own speakers.
