Is this problem known here ?
What can i do to fix it ?

I don't think it's a known problem at all. I have a Mac Pro 1,1 with 2,1 firmware and it "just" works with Tiamo's boot.efi. My case, however, might be somewhat atypical, as I migrated to Tiamo's boot.efi from a previous Chameleon setup, meaning my Mavericks install was done according to the most widespread Chameleon method, which is similar to Tiamo's but not exactly the same. When I learned about Tiamo's hack, I simply copied his boot.efi to a couple of locations, blessed the Mavericks disk and got rid of the Chameleon setup.

Other than suggesting that you repair permissions, I have no idea how you can get your system out of that boot loop.

So who's putting bets on how long till Yosemite gets hacked on :D

3 weeks or three months, I'll give it a shot. Thanks to the great work of Tiamo and others we still have viable hardware.

I've just upgraded my Mac Pro 1,1 flashed to 2,1 with a pair of 5355s and am waiting for a 5770 graphics card to arrive later this week so I can run Mavericks. I already installed it on a secondary drive and it ran fine, but graphics were sketchy using my 7300GT card.

Once I get the 5770 installed I'll be ready.....

Well I suppose Yosemite just like any other will have a boot.efi file for example, it just might be hidden away, so it might just be a matter of getting to it and then were sorted again, well I hope its that easy.

Some devs have already d’loaded their copy. I’ll do mine overnight as it takes a while on a spotty 2MB connection.

I've just literally installed it on my MBA which is supported and it runs nicely will try on the Pro on another partition in the bit and have a mess around and see if I can get it to work.

Nice. Even though I don’t like 10.10 I’ll still d’ld it.

Why don't you like it? design?

Absolutely right. I think the flat design is terrible. Trouble is all the thrid parties will be matching the look and icons are looking really crappy.
There’s a difference between skeumorphism and realism and it seems they’ve lost both.

Best example I can think of is what I posted the other day, (look at the lovely printer icon and imagine it in 10.10 - it’s quite likely going to be something flat and opaque. The fuctionality will be good though no doubt);

I do agree with you, most of the stuff in my dock looks out of place and browsing in the new safari is weird like typing this post is strange as half of the stuff on my screen is flat and the rest is normal!

----------

I know it will just take time for things to match but like you said the icons will look strange

It’ll look more uniform when finalised but not better that’s my opinion anyways. The shame of it is that as Apple have progressed they’ve made it harder for 3rd parties to personalise. You know like the Unsanity haxies and candybar and OS skinning.

Reminds me of the classic Macos fans around 2001, when MacOS X was released. ;-)

Can’t answer that as I’m not sure what you’re getting at.

When MacOS X was first released, the fans of what is now classic MacOS, were calling Apple out over the new look and the functionality.
They were telling everyone, that this new OS is not was MacOS is about, it's a dead end etc.

Ah, gotcha. I’m not one of those as I didn’t join the club until 10.1 was released. Things is it’s a new look and that’s fine but from a visual perspective they are regressing. You may like it, you may not but it doesn’t change the fact that a crappy 2D plainly coloured icon isn’t as descriptive as most of the 3D example we currently have. (I don’t really mean things like leather calendars either).

Still, Apple will stop supporting 10.9 and iOS7 very quickly as they always do and with the way things are going security wise this will be a larger concern as time goes on so you’d be remiss not to upgrade. (With iOS7 they’ll very likely be even more aggressive and stop signing earlier builds).

That said, I still prefer it to Windows and always have but now that we’ve had Win7 installed on our work PCs having used it for a while I can say that the gap has reduced considerably.

Well, icons are just symbols for applications. Whether that is 3D or 2D, one gets used to looking out for them.
Moreover, icons change all the time. So what's the problem with plain ones?

As I said before. They look crap.

Didn't work on my 2,1 with Tiamo's boot.efi so far. Just sits on grey screen with Apple. I'll play some more with it later today (verbose mode, clean install, another graphics card etc.).

BTW, it's really fugly

Yosemite and Mac Pro 1,1?

Any one have any thoughts as to running Yosemite on Mac Pro 1,1? I have Mavericks running on my Mac Pro 1,1 and am really hoping we can use the same 32bit boot.efi to run Yosemite...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Azi

Ahh ok, I was going to have a mess around later on too and I know what you mean I have it on my Air. I'm coming to like it though.
