Didn't Mention DGPU support...they kind of skipped GPU in the announcement, unless they are going to go more in depth...standing by.

The price is ridiculous when the Mac Studio with M2 Ultra still starts at $3999
So....it seems that the new Mac Pro is essentially just the updated Mac Studio in a different box, with PCI slots and extra connectivity ports. Or am I missing something 
lol, at least it gives closure. No serious push for pro level 3D. Ok, walkover from nvidia higher than mid range (3070?)

They showed the redshift benchmark Moana scene and didn't say how long it took... which is a terrible sign. Oh dear.
I hope with the arrival of the AS Mac Pro they will lower the price of the Intel Mac Pro.
It's basically that or nothing. ASi has many strengths, but extensibility isn't one of them.
How low would it have to go to invest in at this point? It's probably got a couple of new OS generations left.
These pieces of s*** will then say, jeez no one really bought the slots, I guess no one really wants needs slots... all the while ignoring they killed graphics cards and a huge portion of what Pros/enthusiasts need.
They made their peace with that when they decided to transition to ASi. For better or worse, they consider it a worthwhile trade-off.

I see the benefit in the machine, and it's going to sell like hotcakes to editing, coloring, and music houses...but wow, just completely ignoring the 3D and Render Spaces is a big wow to me...
We can hold out hope for the second generation ASi Mac Pro with M3 Ultra & M3 Extreme SoCs (with hardware ray-tracing)...?!? ;^p
Yeah, it's a bit disappointing, but it's exactly what I assumed it would be. M2 with more internal and external expandability than a Studio. Only real surprise to me was that it only has an Ultra and thus the higher price, but I guess that's the only easy way to get the PCIe lanes they need.
Unfortunately, Apple have now shown their hand, so the speculation is a little moot. All you can look forward to is a few more cores and a higher RAM ceiling. In future, you'll know everything as soon as the next MBP is released.
Yea they're playing make believe that gaming on the Mac is meaningful, but ignoring that they just killed Mac Pro. 🙄
The Pro needs to set itself apart from lesser machines somehow. Given it doesn't use a unique chip, it needs to at least use the best as a starting point.
Maybe next they can start on how committed they are to the enterprise to really put a cherry on this bs cake.
