Here my problem...

Not knowing future plan of Apple hurt my enterprise.
I know that Apple don't speak of device in the pipeline but after spending tens of thousands of $$$ on Apple products , i think we are intitled to know if it's time to move plateform and go/return toward windows that i hate.

I really suspect Tim Cook more nature bicycle/hiker/business accountant kinda guy and wanting to just focus on APPL performance. Not being a power user himself ,he sure use it's iPad and smile of galactic joy .

The Gauss Curve show that it's normal not selling as much powerful destop as low end iMac but some poeple need the fastest bad@ss Mac ever to create stuff.

My big question is How can we mobilize ourselves collectively and Let Apple/Tim Cook knows that they should state their intentions for us waiting and loosing money.
622 days !!!

Imagine that all tech site grab the request and let the news float on top for a while...then maybe shyTim can let a "working on it" to keep us waiting a little longer.
Am i high?
Apple can unleash the best emotion in me but also the WORSE!

I just love a good "Let's grab our pitchforks and storm the castle!" thread.

The answer is there is nothing we can do to force answers from Apple. We wait, or we buy something else.

I beg to defer... Do you remember the "Antenna Gate"? Steve Jobs have shortened his hawaii vacation to adress the media!
Also Final Cut Saga... Same deal , Steve answer an email ... Saying something like "next FC will be asesome..."

The power lies in our hand... When we mobilise, media cover us and by chance Apple/ShyTim will stop cycling the park a moment and tell the only 3 guys left in Mac Pro dept "Ok ok , let's put a new Sata3, USB3, Thunderbolt Board and the new E5 Xeon into that big case and ship those ASAP before anothers nuts trash their ol' G5 onto our beautiful glass door in retaliation!!!"
:D

In the UK, if 100,000 people sign an e-petition, then an automatic debate in Parliament triggered. Although Apple is not a democracy, the weight of numbers may produce a response, whether it be the truth or not.....!!!

Maybe a web site to collect some kind of pledge?!! If only i knew how to buid a web site....
A pledge seem a good begining. But be sure to bring Tony and some baseball bats along... Just in case ;)

Calling the head of the company ShyTim is probably not the best way to go when trying to influence their decisions.

I hope Apple are never forced to make decisions by outside forces. Apple's single-mindedness is part of why they produce such good products.

You can influence them though by showing there is a demand for the Mac Pro, but it is not being converted into sales because of the dated products on sale. The Apple online store has a Contact Us option. Start there.

As mentioned many times before, many PC workstations, even though they have announced a new ones with Sandy bridge Xeons, are still not shipping yet.

I suppose Apple could announce it as well just so customers can get that warm and fuzzy feeling, but would still not ship yet like everyone else. Apple probably has a strict policy not releasing news too early as to warn its competitors and trying to copy everything under the sun from TV's to tablets.

Are we sheep or lion?

If Apple's ye shepherd, ye shall always want. Apple maketh thee wait in abject ignorance, not knowing what may or may not cometh and leadeth ye nowhere. Apple's ways restoreth doubt and won't tell thee which path to take. Yea, though ye have no idea - whether to flee to Windows, Linux, or Hacs from Mac, ye fear business model failure and all manner of evil job evaluation to come, for Apple's not with thee. Apple's silence comforts thee not. So ye must prepare a plan to ward off system obsolescence least ye anxiety runneth over. Surely Apple's ways have taught thee that for the rest of ye days not to dwell as Apple's sheep.

For Tim.. You're right... Don't get me wrong ...i Love the guy just very concern that maybe he just don't care about Pro market anymore... Ad this is wrong.
My employees work on mac and since they all convert themself at home and purchase other apple products for their family... They talk and convert more and more peoples...
I know it's not as significant than all those gazillions of poeples buying ipad but it is ,nenotheless , a contributing factor.

I think being gazillionnaire make Apple not caring anymore... But be careful ,mobile market can turn around very fast...ask RIM and Nokia....

Well, there is one way that would work for sure, but it would require raising around $750M in cash to become a majority stockholder...

And there is precedent in Apple announcing Mac towers before they shipped. In the case of the PowerMac G5, they were announced in June and shipped in August.

Apple probably has a strict policy not releasing news too early as to warn its competitors and trying to copy everything under the sun from TV's to tablets.

Even if Apple were to give away every last design detail, copying a tower desktop doesn't sound particularly likely. Afterall, over the last 9 years that the Mac has used the 'cheesegrater' case, just how many PC makers have tried to copy it?

-hh

And they stopped pre announcing hardware a long time ago.

I don't think I've ever read a more incoherent post on MacRumors. Are you drunk?

I was hoping for a Steve resurrection with Mac Pro in tow.

Now I'm picturing a zombie Steve Jobs reenacting Thriller with the other zombies holding mac pros. This may be one of the silliest things I've ever pictured.

Well, there is one way that would work for sure, but it would require raising around $750M in cash to become a majority stockholder...

I like your suggestion:D. The "mac pro is dead" threads border on flamebaiting though. I mean they're just a collection of troll articles, and they started before obvious hardware became available. I'm predicting an update around Mountain Lion given that we're approaching it, and Ivy Bridge E is currently targeted at Q2 2013 assuming against further delays.

I'm sure others have stated this but you do realize that Apple can't do anything until Intel releases new chips?

No one is going to pay for new Mac Pro's without new processors.

The CPUs haven't been released. How many times do people need to post this.

How pleased would people have been with a retread refresh?

For what is whorth...

https://www.macrumors.com/2012/03/01/mac-pro-update-now-possible-with-new-xeon-e5-chips-next-week/

"According to the report, the chips have been in the distribution channel for several weeks now"

That report means nothing. Just because a chip arrived doesn't mean that they can just be slapped in and sold. If that were the case we'd be seeing workstations shipping with them already, but we aren't.

Take a look: Coming Soon - E5. Its not currently shipping.
