In the German online store quad core, 8 core and server are 1-3 business days. And the 12 core 3 days. So who knows
This is not news, the European sites have been quoting these times since mid March!
An update alongside new Ivy Bridge MBP 15 looks possible, this week or next week...
I don't know if you guys understand ....the thread isn't about how long it takes to get one delivered to your house.
Basically, if you choose an un-optioned Mac Pro, you can check to see if local stores have it in stock for pickup RIGHT NOW.
The OP discovered that none of the Northern California stores had stock of any model.
I looked here in SoCal and only a few stores had the base 4 core. (50% or fewer)
The thread isn't about order times, it is about whether or not the machines are sitting in stock at local Apple store. The OP is noting that it is odd that nobody has any inventory in their area.
Exactly. They pulled down the inventory because of the lack of demand for a highly-specialized computer that's two years old.
The Mac Pro has been showing as not being immediately available for in-store pickup in the Bay Area for some time as well. If you order in-store pickup, they order that the machine be shipped to the store, and then you can pick it up there.
Technically Apple could have launched a new Mac Pro at any time in the past few months because they're not shipping any to their retail stores.
I don't recall any Mac being announced around the same time as the Apple earnings call that happens tomorrow.
I might add though. This exact same thing happened when the new Apple TV came out a couple of months ago. Whether or not Apple does this with Mac Pros I don't know.
you could also add 3 iMac 27" high end to your cart and you will get the same delivery date for in store pick up. so - this means nothing or everything!
I'm surprised that manufacturers are still making these old tech 2010 mac pro parts. It does seem to me that Intel really has been the biggest drag on advancing the Mac Pro in a more timely manner the last few years.
Let's just hope apple hasn't forgotten Next, Pixar, and all of the professionals who can't make thire living with an iPad.
I get the feeling that they fully expect this ability in the not too distant future.

I just called the Oak Brook & Naperville, IL stores and they have good stock of Mac Pros. Although, it took a couple of minutes for the clerk at the Oak Brook store to fully understand that I wasn't interested in the MacBook Pro.![]()
At least RenderMan is running on OSX.The thing about Pixar is they never used Apple hardware for rendering.
