Hearing today's update is making it more frequent for people, any one can confirm?
10.10.5 running here - so far no hickup :)

If ever get the combo from Apples website. The App Store-Update does some weird things for some users including me with the update process itself ending in a loop and finally not updating at all.
https://www.apple.com/support/osx/software-updates/
The combo is ok.
There is a new "FirmwareUpdate.pkg" in Library/Update as well - although there were no signs about updating any firmware. No idea what firmware it is.

10.10.5 did not update the GPU kernel drivers (I compared kextstat in 10.10.4 and 10.10.5), so if it changes something, I am surprised.

That said, I actually did one successful suspend + resume last night (but I haven't bothered to suspend the machine for awhile now, so might have been just lucky).

Apple replaced GPU-B again, GPU-A and also the SSD to no avail. regarding the lock-ups. The error messages from the 3D benchmark seem just to be due to the performance characteristics of the D300s. I have a replacement/new machine now and things are working great so far.

Have had zero problems with 10.10.4 when using HDMI on my display....where as I was having 3 or 4 locks per day before moving to HDMI on the display. Seemed very clear it's a driver Yosemite issue with DP. Anyway, after upgrading to 10.10.5, starting locking again 3 or 4 times in about an hour and a half...same errors as I used to get. Rolled back to the previous version backup, all is good again. My take? Yosemite is a **** show. At least for me.

Replacement machine seems to be the only way to go on this - sadly

There is no black magic or voodoo here. On some machines there is obviously more problems then GPUs.
For some reason Apple is sticking with procedure to change parts one by one. My guess is that ASD tests cannot give straight answer. There is one big problem with this procedure: consumer inconvenience, to say the least.

As my particular problem seems to be triggered by some esoteric combination of software I have installed + plenty of weird hardware, my machine spent month+ in the shop and came back the same (except with repaired fan - the original was noisy.. 'unable to reproduce'). *sigh*

Now under 10.10.5, I have noticed that resume from suspend seems not to crash _if_ I manually suspend. I used to mostly suspend by unchecking the 'prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off', but that might have been the culprit, or alternatively I am very lucky now (few manual suspends, no problems). TBD if the problem would surface if I unchecked the "prevent computer ..." checkbox, guess I will test this manual suspend for couple of days more and then see if the automatic suspend still causes crashes.

I noticed something odd, it seems i'm getting more gpurestarts with a bluetooth connected mouse. My guess is to do with the mouse going in and out of power savings mode. Switched off my bluetooth and it doesnt happen as frequently.

is everyone with a replacement machine facing no problems? No crashes so far?

Can't speak for everyone, but had GPU problems fixed by replacement GPUs, then the entire machine replaced because of coil whine noise, but the machine has been fine since January. From reading the posts on this thread and others, it's appears to not be a case where early machines had the problems but later ones don't, it's more like some random percentage of GPUs fail intermittently, so if you get a replacement, it looks like it's possible that the problem can return at some point.

so ur saying macpro hardware deteriorate randomly?

I had this issue but it was due to the screensaver I had. I changed the screensaver and it hasn't happened since.

As an alternative, you may want to run the nMP with Windows 8.1 (Bootcamp) - it is not crashing at all as well...
(no joke - i often do it, both system have their advantages - the one of Windows is stability...)

Yeah, sounds random but the problem only occurred with the custom screensaver I was using. Tried the OpenGL stress test and everything, no crashes since disabling the screen saver I had. If you're wondering, it looked like a flip clock.

OS X El Capitan DP4 and DP5 have some serious grpahical problems:

Today I had two GPU Reset errors on my laptop (from sig):
GPU Reset........ Intel GPU Hang Summary

Sent report to Apple.....
