I got that too. Called Apple, the rep said they were doing an upgrade or something, though I don't know how much they actually know.

That is *exactly* what happened to me yesterday. Did you happen to pay with American Express? Shows that it is always a good idea to check your order status online ... you never know
I mine was from a VISA. I am so glad i checked!

I think Apple got sick of people checking their orders. LOL I get this now:

We're Sorry

A technical difficulty has prevented us from processing your request. Please click here to return to the Apple Online Store.

Got that this morning when I did my regular 'are we there yet' check.

Thank the iMac update for that...

Yeah didn't see that until after I posted. The price gap between a iMac and a Mac Pro narrowed a bit with the 24" I think. Similarly equipped iMac 24 came in at about $2800 compared to the $3200 I'm paying for the Mac Pro I'm getting.

However I do know there's an extra $1000 for the 23" Screen. But still, that's quite a range of price options the iMac covers now. I'd be tempted to go with the iMac 24" if I didn't already get the monitor shipped to me now that it has FW800.

Not gonna change, even though I gotta wait another month. :(

I got my 7300 Mac Pro yesterday. Very nice machine! I was pleased to see that the Quake 4 demo ran pretty well maxed out (around 30fps at the lowest). COD2 provided the biggest challenge to the card and I had to back down the textures to automatic. Still, as a casual gamer it'll do just fine for now. I'm burning the XP ISO now. Can't wait to hear the stats on the x1900.

A little advice from the UK guys if possible :) :

When we ordered our Mac Pro we were given the following details:

"Your order should ship on or before 19.10.2006.

We estimate that it will be delivered to your shipping address on or before 23.10.2006."

I've just received a Order Dispatched e-mail, a day earlier than anticipated, but stating:

"Your order was shipped on 18.10.2006, and we expect your order to be delivered to your shipping address on or before 27.10.2006."

So it's been shipped a day early, but is going to take 4 days longer to be delivered?!

If it's anything like here in the states... UPS or whoever always adds a few extra days in there. I always find the package delivered 3-4 days before the time they claim it will be delievered. Unless it's overnight.

Where's it coming from? I know the other Macs are sent from China if BTOed, and if there are other items that need to be merged in the order, it can easily take a week and a half.

Do you mind if I ask if yours came via Kuhne & Nagel Spedition s.a r.?
They will ship it to Ireland, who will most likely ship it to you via UPS (this is what happened with mine anyway).

Sean :)
