Mine sat in HK for a week, but moved to Taiwan overnight. UPS says delivery on Monday now.Nice to see a few trickling into the UK at last!
Meanwhile in limboland… has anyone whose Mac landed in HK seen any movement in the past week?
Meeting finished and Mac Studio/Display powered up. A few observations:
Overall I‘m very pleased as fears over fan noise and display quality were (in my case) unfounded.
- I can’t hear the Mac unless I put my ear right next to the fan. The fan is running as the dining room (where I’m setting it up) has that wonderful new electronics smell
- The Studio Display is stunning (but my old iMac 27” display was half the pixel density). The early reviewers had clearly been spoilt by the Pro Display XDR
- The Monterey update is big but downloaded quickly over Starlink
- The Studio Display has an update but it won’t install. I will try again once Monterey has finished updating.
- I‘m setting it up as new rather than migrating from my iMac - there is too much crap on there
I'm really considering it - but at the same time, my current monitors are doing their job UltraFinelyMy Studio Display arrived on the last day of the original date window. It's well worth the wait.
Mine was 4/2/22. Sat there until today. Then it started moving. For all the people that said theirs left Hong Kong today, what was the original shipping date?
The sound from the display is really, really nice too. No I'm not on commission. 😂I'm really considering it - but at the same time, my current monitors are doing their job UltraFinely
I usually listen to things using my AirPods Max - so not too bothered about the sound from display (I also have a nice camera)... doesn't help my case lolThe sound from the display is really, really nice too. No I'm not on commission. 😂
My card got a pre authorization yesterday, Studio Display ordered 9 March, expected April 6-13. I’m getting the VESA mount. The Max Studio arrived on Tuesday. My Studio Display arrived on the last day of the original date window. It's well worth the wait.
That's interesting - things that arrived in HK yesterday making their way out, but earlier not. Let's hope it isn't a situation where last in = first out and the stuff at the back of the pile is delayed..View attachment 1988530
This is my status.
Now i'm nervous. Mine shipped two days ago and is still in Hong Kong. UPS says delivery by EOD Monday but after reading all of these posts I'm thinking it'll be stuck there for a week or so too. UGH!Mine finally left Hong Kong It's at least finally moving so I'll take that LOL
Yup. Exactly the same. Arrived in Chek Lap Kok yesterday.. crickets...Now i'm nervous. Mine shipped two days ago and is still in Hong Kong. UPS says delivery by EOD Monday but after reading all of these posts I'm thinking it'll be stuck there for a week or so too. UGH!
That's a good point. I know these worldwide product launches are more exciting, but I wonder if Apple has discussed going back to staggered product launches around the world like they used to do.Keep in mind that Hong Kong is apparently in a pretty severe COVID outbreak and subsequent lockdowns.
I hope we can keep our impatience versus their health and safety in perspective!
Completely agree - first world problem, let's hope the staff are safe and well and reminds me how much we rely on them. My frustration is the lack of info from UPS and the obviously missed deadlines. All it needs is someone in Europe or US to post something about the problem and set an expectation (if only holding pattern).Keep in mind that Hong Kong is apparently in a pretty severe COVID outbreak and subsequent lockdowns.
