hey man, so the rumors about the problems caused by switching to intel were only...rumors?

It is not as bad as the people here make them out to be. On a Dell most users will just accept those issues as part of owning a Dell and suck it up.

I think of it like this-

What would you rather own? A lada or a ferarri? A PC or a Mac? If we take the price issue out of this, then who here in this forum would take the lada? No one I should imagine, and I think the same goes with the PC-Mac comparison.

Yeah they may be more expensive, but it's the whole 'owning something more exclusive and expensive' thats the nice part. I feel that my macbook performs better than the similarly specced laptop my dad uses. It doesn't bother me paying extra for something that I personally feel is better.

I've just recently switched from Windows having been using it for the last 10 years, and although I'm finding some things 'weird' compared with Windows, I don't find the differences bad. And best of all, I love the mac because if feels just as fast after 5 days uptime as it does after a fresh reboot.

If you were given (for free) a choice between a macbook and some random dell, what would you choose? I can't confess to being a totaly mac fanboy as I've only been using them for about 3 weeks, but from my own personal experiences so far, there are very few reasons why I would go back to using Windows.

Tell me again when your Ferrari comes with overheating engines and shuts down randomly.

You only hear about these problems because it's human nature to compain about things that don't work. If it were possible to catalogue every complaint about random shutdowns and overheating, there would be very few incidences.
'Disasters' always recieve more publicity.

EDIT- Are you also implying then that Ferraris don't break down?
