Anyone found a real solution guys?
the hibernation workaround is not very handy.
we need something more consistent.
Sadly no. We've gone back to our reseller and asked for an exchange. They gave us a brand new laptop, and it works beautifully ever since.

I really hope you can somehow arrange the same! :(

hmmm ok. Or any usb devices attached?

For some reason even a usb mouse attached will cause my macbook air to wake up a lot.

If you have any device attached to the usb c ports other than the power, try removing them and see if it helps. Worked for me.

No usb attached. I deliberately unplug everything nighttime.
I found out that Activity Monitor shows some apps that prevent the Mac from sleeping. Boom 3D, a sound application, is one of them and this time I quitted it before sleeping... I don't know if it is the solution but tonight this MacBook Air consumed 2 percent in sleep mode. Which seems acceptable to me...

Well, since there is no Apple-owned "Apple Store" here in Hungary, only Apple Resellers, this was done by my reseller. I don't know exactly how they managed to return it to Apple, but they did. :)
good for you mate, even if I am reluctant to believe this matter is hardware related

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist NoMulticastAdvertisements -bool YES

Just. Finally. Found out. What is draining my battery overnight.
At 9:30 (in the screenshot) you see the impact of the NoMulticastAdvertisements change. It stops waking up every 8 seconds.

Tried this but unfortunately it does not help in my case :( After some time (not always), the Macbook M1 will wake from sleep, start the external monitor and then go to sleep again...
This is always the reason

Does anyone knows why even if my batter optimization feature is turned on in MBA , it isn't holding battery charging only delaying it !!

It takes a while for the battery optimization to kick in. For me, the first time I used it, it didn’t show any effect until about two weeks of using it nearly 100% on the charger. Other have said that their usage is so varied that it never kicks in.

I'm onto something. Are you on 5GHZ antenna for wifi, or 2.4? I switched from 5 to 2.4 after reading forums and i'm testing if it has an impact.

(NUB.SPMI0Sw3IRQ i will find who you are and where you live ?)

You are suggesting that Wi-Fi frequency could interfere with wake ups during sleep mode?

I am using mainly 5GHz wifi, but I did some tests in the past and the macbook will wake even with wifi and BT turned off... I really have no clue why is this happening... everything disconnected, connectivity turned off, lid closed, but it will still drain 40% battery overnight... maybe I will install the newest MacOS beta and simply hope they managed to fix this :(

The only step that, till now, seems to work for me, was to Completely wipe out the disk and install a fresh copy of Big Sur importing ONLY THE APPS from time machine backup. After that I deactivated any tpc connection whilst sleeping, there is a terminal command for that. Follow the discussion here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253161397?page=1

3 days after Monterey, it started again, using 25% every day.

As you see, I used the laptop at 9h51 and closed the lid. At 12:11 it started its NUB.SPMI0Sw3IRQ nub-spmi.0x02 rtc/ dance again.

Next thing, i'm trying to disable darkwakes.

It's been 24 hours since i've seen nub rtc/maintenance. In my second screenshot you see my MacBook Pro really had a good night of sleep. I'm a bit confused because I did TWO things at 9AM yesterday (when it stopped):
  • Updated Google Sync and Backup to the new Google Drive
  • Quit my VPN app that I left running in the status bar, even if it was disconnected.
I believe the latter to be the main cause after analyzing the Console and seeing the daemon performing stuff during night. (I use PrivateInternetAccess). I'll see if it stays that way.
