My Black MacBook kinda does that. Not to that extreme, but it does push out a little more than the rest of the lid. The thing is, other than that it has no problems and that slight bulge doesn't ever bother me so I don't know if I should do anything. Also, I bought this thing a month ago, would they even fix it or would they just say that I could have done it so they won't take it....

They'll take it back. I had that problem on 2 MacBooks I exchanged the first one where the bezel came off and ended up outright returning the second one when the same problem arose. I'm going to wait it out a couple more months. Hopefully my tigger finger does'nt get tooo itchy.

Another thing is with all of the other "issues" I'm worried that I'll get another one with a different problem like moo or whine or really excessive heat...

The keyboard is fine to type on, no different than any other, IMO. I don't look at the keys when I type, and the actual space between keys hasn't really changed, it's just that they're flat and not sloped. It's a bit disconcerning to look at, but it's totally natural to the feel - I had no problems whatsoever.

As to the screen - have you guys ever used a matte screen outside on a sunny day? It's totally washed out and you can't see anything unless you're using a nuclear explosion to backlight it. The glossy screens are really not that bad. I'm a stickler for black colors so i'm finding them absolutely fabulous. Plus, whenever I need a mirror and I'm low on battery, all I have to do is pop it open ;)

yep, i had the same problem, it seems to be pretty common. i also had bulging above the ports. it's going straight back, and i'm not going to gamble for a new one. i'm going for a MBP instead.

I've had my blackbook for a full three days now :D and I'm very happy with it

It's really not that warm guys...i can comfortably use it on my lap for about an hour and a half - but i don't get uncomfortable, i just want to do something else. Really, I've used my dad's dell laptop which gets quite hot.

The MBPs do get really hot, moreso because it's aluminum, but my MB is fine.

No moo, no faulty screen, no bulging case, no terrible heat, no plastic covering the vents ;)

Ow... the blinding pain... I'm not buying a MB until sometime in 2012 when they're totally obsolete "old stuff" and practically error-free.

My new Macbook. 2GHz White with SuperDrive. Stock 512MB of RAM, but I'll put atleast a gig in it within the next month or so.

While I'm at it; I have a pretty small room, but desperately need a desk. Can anyone reccomend one that would fit here to replace the dresser? It's about 2.5' wide, and couldn't stick out more than 2'. I'd prefer something simple, like a glass table. It needs to be mainly black or gray to match the room. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE
Just recieved my laptop back from Applecare. The logic board was replaced as well as the palm rest.

After my first reboot this is what I saw. I fixed it though:)

Oh there great. They get dirty after a while but what the heck its $20 bucks. I'd rather that than my Macbook

MacBook Pro is best of both worlds. Doesn't really get very dirty, but is still a nice bright finish.

The MacBook is still great though, a friend of mine has just got one. Great fun with bonjour iChat in school!:D
