Anyone out there know if there are similar issues being reported on the new mac mini's? Been considering switching to one of those as my Mac Book Pro is still having issues.
I've opened the thread in mac mini forum, if you want you can go have a look :)

A guy on gearslutz said that ableton is much less to be affected by that but I'm not an ableton user, and most recent logic pro 10.4.2 update brings up some good hope for us.
Though, on current release of mojave and LPX 10.4.2 drops are super super rare (atm producing for an hour, didn't noticed one so far)

Is there a Gearslutz thread on this issue?

No problems with mine.
trust me, you can do it...safari youtube is the easiest way to reproduce the high pitch pop sound
Apple says they are working on it...but i suspect since they fixed 1 speaker issue only on Mojave...i suspect this things will get some fixed with the next year big OS

Iv'e been following this thread on and off, and I can't really tell what the consensus is on Mojave. Did it fix issues for anyone?

So I checked my MBP13in 2018...

The issue that is easily reproduced and triggered: enable volume feedback sounds, open youtube for example, spam the volume keys fast, the youtube volume will be distorted heavily, volume feedback sounds distorted and muted, etc. - this is NOT happening on MBP13in.

But it's still happening on my MBP15 2018.

Speaker hiss noise is a bit less and shorter duration on the 13in too.

Same 10.14.1 on both, latest available.

When will the crackling speakers be fixed in bootcamp? It is really taking very long to be fixed.

It was fixed for me personally a week before Mojave launched. Have you updated Bootcamp on your Windows installation?

If I run the Apple software on Bootcamp, there are no updates available. I am also running the latest Mac OS X version (so it is updated).

I have bootcamp 6.1 installed in Windows 10 and doing something very basic like watching youtube videos will start crackling and popping my internal speakers at some point.

If I use an external DAC, the sound is fine in Windows 10.

I haven’t checked using Apple Software Updater so don’t know if it shows there. I booted into Mac, launched Bootcamp Assistant and downloaded the Windows Support files then moved them to Windows where I install the Bootcamp drivers. Not a single issue using the built in speakers and I would know because I do some light gaming (BF1, Overwatch) every night for 4 hours.

Ok cool. I will try to do the same and hopefully that fixed it.

Disable volume feedback

I notice through HDMI there are no noticeable popping or crackling issues in audio apps and music.

SAME! Got mine last Saturday and it's been doing it a ton. While opening a music writer app, sending messages, switching apps. It is bugging me, any way to fix it?

Guess maybe it is time to try get a replacement unit again. Maybe I’ll be able to get a Vega card in the process if I pay for the difference.

Just of curiosity, which hardware do you have connected to macbook? does it happen with everything unplugged? (except for charging if needed of course)

Sorry for answeing that late, I was very frustrated and that machine went to service for a second time. Spoiler alert: The loudspeakers are still crackling and I think they are getting even more damaged while using them.

And yes, the crackling sounds appear even when it is disconnected from everything with a charged battery.
