In case anyone was wondering, I bought the targus sleeve from Best Buy, and it's very nice and somewhat fits the new 13" MacBook Pro.

The protective fitted molding on the inside is maybe a half inch too big, so the new 13" moves up and down in it a little bit.

But it protects from scratches and when in a backpack, and feels like it would protect in a small drop, so I'll probably keep it..at least until the Incase icon with tensaerlite one gets released.

It's maybe been posted here already, but Pack & Smooch have updated their website with new cases for the new MacBook Pros! Looks like they ship out from the 16th of November onwards - available in their usual two standard colors.

Interestingly the description says this version closes via two magnets (versus the older versions two press studs).
I own two of the press stud Pack & Smooch cases (one for my rMBP and one for my MacBook Air). They're very good quality, have had no issues with any scratching (no metal parts touch the actual MacBook while it is in the case, only the material) so I've ordered one for my new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar! :D

I just ordered one of these too with a small discount. Still a pricey sleeve but I've heard good things about them.

Wow, looks really nice, but that's the price I would pay for a backpack, for me it's too expensive for a sleeve.

I emailed Incase to ask when they would have the new products and if the Icon Sleeve is water resistant. Not really happy with the answer...

Here is the solution
Buy the 13 inch Icon Sleeve
And thena cheap 15 inch water resistant sleeve :p Put laptop in icon sleeve and that in the 15 inch sleeve
your laptop can now survive a nuclear fallout

I only asked about the water resistency because someone here asked :)
I was more interested in a release date. If they don't even have a timeline, I guess it'll take longer

Have a 13" ordered, what briefcases are recommended?

Looking for something sharp, maybe timeless, maybe leather.

I am aware of sfbags - just wanted to see if there were any other recommendations. I really like the Happy Owl briefcase but I dont think they are in business anymore.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing this @Taylor-C . Looks like a beautiful option. Pricey, but very good quality. I wish their website showed what it looks like when opened. Is there an inner pocket separate from the space for the Macbook Pro?

How did you get a discount on this @technoholic?

Yes - there is an inner pocket (which seperates the studs from the MacBook on the older sleeves that use the push studs). It's not a very big pocket though, you'd be able to maybe fit a small external hard drive, pair of earphones and iPhone charge cable maximum - but even then it would cause quite a bulge. I personally don't put anything in the little pocket as I'd typically have a backpack or something when I'm on the go and need cables etc.

Here is a picture of the inner section from the Retina 15" sleeve :)

There are some other pictures on the product page too - http://www.pack-smooch.com/en/lapto.../hampshire-for-the-macbook-pro-15-retina.html

Which one do you guys think will have a better fit. A incase icon 12 macbook or the 11 inch macbook air or 13 inch retina pro?

Has anyone any experience with Mujjo sleeves? They look amazing but I am curious as to quality....especially at those prices.

Thanks @Taylor-C. I appreciate you sharing this. Looks very nice. On my list to consider for sure.

Are regular sleeves enough protection for traveling (mainly on planes)? I'd have the laptop inside the sleeve and inside my backpack

A few places are advertising the existing Icon sleeve as being compatible with the new Pros so I'm going to give that a go I think.

I just asked! I always ask before I buy anything, most of the time there will be a code they will give you or something. I don't tend to share them around because they are usually unique but I would have thought if you asked them they would give you one too.

Apple reckoned it would work but you're right, they're just a wee bit too big, kind of defeating the purpose of the snug fit of this sleeve. Back it goes....

wait what are the disadvantages of not having a snug fit? for me the differences between the 2015 and my 13in 2016 mbp is 0.38 inches less width, 0.26 inches less depth and 0.12 inches less height. a quarter of an inch doesn't seem that significant. I'm debating buying the old one and see how it fits. I've read people complain that it's sorta hard to get the mbp out of the icon case so this might actually help. what do you think?

It's nice when it doesn't sort of slosh around in there.

Thanks @technoholic! Makes sense. Always good to ask - especially smaller businesses that might not be as strictly bound by corporate policies. I'll definitely do this if I decide to order these. Definitely tempted!
