Returned the Incase Icon Tensaerlite because of the extra space for the 15". Apple advertises it as compatible, but by that logic they might as well sell a house there because the MacBook can be put inside, but they obviously don't judge the extra space...

Anyway, ordered this now (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inateck-Ultrabook-Carrying-Satellite-Chromebook/dp/B00ZEBBX10/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1480631307&sr=1-6&keywords=14+inch+laptop+case&th=1)

Its a 14" case, do you think it should fit the tb15" better than Icon? I've been comparing dimensions of that one, the MacBook pro and the TomToc case one that isnt available in the UK yet...

I bought the case below from Amazon UK below which should arrive tomorrow - the internal dimensions seemed closest to the new 15" Macbook Pro and slightly smaller than the case above . Will let you know how I get on.

That's great, thanks.

I was thinking about that one but didn't like the lack of padding (it seems like that on the pictures compared to the others, may not be the case when you actually see it and try on) and the lack of a handle up there.

Will let know when my one arrives also!

Just got the InCase Diamond Wire for my 13" and I'm pretty happy with it. Doesn't seem to have nearly as much extra material as I had feared since it's advertised for the rMBP. It's close to a perfect fit, and that may be helped since it's stiffer than the neoprene sleeves they sell that always seem to be a bit floppier. Probably about as much cushioning as my old one, but it feels like less since it's a suede-like material on the inside instead of the faux fur like the two I have for my 15".

Is this the "slim" version you are talking about? Grabbed one for $29 during the Thanksgiving sale and it comes in tomorrow. I just returned the Icon sleeve because I thought I could tolerate the extra room but it turns out I was wrong. Also couldn't justify paying $60 for a sleeve that didn't properly fit.

I was excited to see Incase had listed "new" sleeves for the 2016 MBP line, but feelings certainly changed when they had reviews dated before the new models were released lol.

My iBlason "shipped" via DHL on November 21st but there seems to be no movement whatsoever. Wish there were more hardshell case options at the moment.

This is the one I got: https://www.incase.com/shop/macbook-sleeves/incase-diamond-wire-slim-sleeve-for-mbr13/black/

I was excited to see the Pro (2016) category too, but then had the exact same reaction when I saw the reviews on them.

Is there anything like this Tomtoc sleeve that is available to be purchased in the UK?

I have the 13" TB MBP

It's not a proper fit. Don't waste your time and money. I am returning mine.

This isn't for the 2016 it's for the previous gen they just are trying to capitalize on early adopters of the 2016 model. A pickle will fit in a barrel but doesn't mean it's a good fit.

Bought the pack & smooth grey sleeve today.
Thanks Macrumorus that you shown me such an awesome sleeve ! I'm really looking forward to get the sleeve next week.

It's still better than using an Incase sleeve made for a 2011 15" MacBook Pro like I had been for the past few weeks.

i just received my i-blason cases for my 13' tb mbp....not very please as i was expecting to receive a clear (transparent type) hard shell almost like the speck hardshell for the current rmbp. It appears the photo on amazon was a bit misleading. ended up with a cloud like rubber texture type shell..

Gonna wait for the incase/speck line up for 2017 and repurchase. As of now, this will do.

I guess. But using an old t-shirt in the same fashion one could say the same. LOL

I never have understood the desire to put a shell on a laptop. A laptop casing (in Apple's case, made of metal) is designed to protect the inside of the mac much like the cushions\fabric on a couch is designed to protect what's in the couch. Putting a shell on a mac is like putting a couch cover on a couch. Seems silly, but maybe that's just me. I get the desire to protect it while carrying around the mac, but when you're paying a premium for the thinness and design of a mac, why cover it up? Might as well get an old thicker one and save half the cost. LOL

Same reason as why people put them on their phones. They do offer some level of protection against dings and scratches, which would preserve the resale value if that was important to you.

While I can relate to wanting to keep my expensive Apple gadgets pristine (I run a case on my iPhone & iPads), often times these snap-on shells do the opposite. Damage multipliers. Dust & grit becomes trapped between the hard shell and machine and acts as a very effective abrasive, I've always seen snap-on cases do more harm than good...

I'd take a scratch from dirt being stuck between a case over a big ugly dented corner any day of the week.

So it's not Clear?

Hello,

Could someone recommend me a good sleeve that fits the new 2016 13" Macbook pro? There's sooo many posts here so I couldn't find a good one

Does anybody have one of these?
https://www.sfbags.com/collections/shoulder-messenger-bags/products/staad-attache-briefcase

I'm interested in buying it for the late 2016 13-inch, but I'm not entirely convinced by that buckle. Seems like a bit of a hassle. So if anybody has any personal experience with it, I'd love to hear your opinion on that buckle in particular.

Piping in late on this and I know that others have already replied, but thought that I'd pipe in.

I bought this bag for my 12" MB and absolutely love it. It holds more than I expected, while not feeling bulky in the least. I also really like the look. The one exception as you mentioned is the buckle. It seems as if they skimped a bit here as much as they advertise it's design. I don't mind the mechanism that much (though it isn't as easy to close as other designs and has opened unintentionally a few times), but I don't understand why they used plastic except as for cost-cutting. I would have been willing to pay more for a metal (i.e., brass) buckle.

I have a new 15" MBP and would seriously consider buying another bag from sfbags. Unfortunately, I can't get the same one, since it would be odd.

Besides not being clear, how's the fit?

I am happy to report the fit for this case is perfect - there is little give in both sides so it does not slide around inside the case. Would be happy to recommend!
