Oops, my bad! I thought you meant you had got a blue leather sleeve. But thanks anyway!

I did get a blue leather sleeve for my 15" tMBP. I'll try to take some photos and post later today.
[doublepost=1486583343][/doublepost]I'm not a photographer, so 'different lighting conditions' elude me. However, this is a very nice sleeve. My only complaint is the tight fit, which has gotten significantly better during the time I've owned mine. I've had sleeves from InCase and all the standard manufacturers as well as Toffee, Beyza, and other high-end manufacturers. The Harber London sleeve is well worth the money, in my view.

Thoughts on this sleeve? I am thinking of getting a skin to stop it getting based around at my uni and a sleeve to give it more protection. It's too pretty to get wrecked.
Cheers

I ended up ordering:

iCarbon Black Skin (top, bottom, keyboard, and sides)
Uppercase keyboard cover (though I have the Moshi ClearGuard on order too since it seems to cover the touchbar itself)
Waterfield Dash Sleeve

I pretty satisfied with this setup for the moment. Mainly decided to go with a skin over a snap-on-case since I have the Hyperdrive hub on order, and it doesn't look like hub will work with traditional cases. I like that the Dash opens vertically, so it's possible to charge my MBP when it's inside the sleeve

I paid $70.29 for mine. Not sure what 'balling' is, but I don't consider that exorbitant, especially when I'm trying to protect a $3000 notebook.

Others, like Toffee sleeves, typically cost more.

I'm sorry ... but I don't feel the need to defend how I spend my money. I earn enough to buy nice things. If you don't, that's hardly my fault.

What color is that Harber London sleeve? The blue one they show on their website looks like a lighter blue is it really a dark blue or is that black?

The sleeve is a dark navy blue. The color shown on the Harber London website is pretty accurate; I just didn't have the ability to adjust the white balance on the camera I used, or to alter the lighting very much.

Yeah those pics almost make it look black. Here is the photo from their website, I took it that it was more of a royal blue or a lighter navy. I guess they are shinning light on their photos. I am considering ordering that color but now I can't tell what color it really is.

The top photo of the two you've posted is certainly far closer to the actual color. I'm sure the leather varies a bit from sleeve to sleeve, but the 'true color' is certainly not a royal blue.

Thanks for the photos! When I said different lighting conditions, I was just interested to see how the light reflects off it and how that changes the colour. From your photos, the sleeve looks barely blue at all! I'm not sure if you've seen one of these yourself, but to me it looks like the Midnight Blue leather case Apple made for the iPhone 6s. And yeah, I would expect the leather to give slightly over time through use, so that's probably why they make it quite tight to begin with. What's your opinion on having the opening along the length of the sleeve, rather than on the shorter side?

I have the midnight blue Apple case on my iPhone 6+, as it happens. The blue of the case is actually a few values darker than the blue of the Harber London sleeve.

I'm actually rather glad that the sleeve opens along the length instead of at the end. The MacBook Pro is actually quite a tight fit, and I'd rather push it up and out than across; the distance is far shorter. That's just my usage, of course ... YMMV.

Do leather leaves actually protect the laptop or is it more so for backpacks or bags that have a dedicated laptop slot?

I don't have a backpack, so don't quote me! I carry a briefcase that has a dedicated laptop pocket; into that pocket I slide my MacBook Pro in the sleeve.

My goal is to avoid scratches, dents and dings. The sleeve just offers an extra protective edge. I have no idea how it would function in a backpack.

FWIW, I've never seen anyone take care of their equipment as I do mine. When I sell a laptop, there are no scratches, scuffs or marks and even the little rice paper screen protector is in place, as it was when the notebook left the factory. So the sleeve is my way of erring on the side of caution.

So I ordered the Pack & Smooch w touch bar and I haven't even made a decision yet which model I'm keeping. If the 2016 coming next week works well I'm going to keep the 2016. The case has already shipped.

Harber London also sent me a 20% off coupon so that is still an option as well.

What did you say in your message to Harber London for them to send you a discount code? I'm looking to buy one of their sleeves, and it would be great if I could get some extra money off! Thanks.

Sorry if this is really inconvenient, but is there any chance you could post a photo of the two side by side to show the colour difference? About to order the sleeve but just want to make sure!

I doubt that I could take a photo that would satisfy you. If you're in Britain, why not just place the order and see for yourself whether you like the color? If not, they allow a 30 day return period. You'll have to spend a few quid for postage, but that probably can't be helped.

I understand that. I have several of their products from the last 8 years. What Sleeve did you get, got a link to the sleeve.
No problem! Link is:
https://www.sfbags.com/collections/macbook-bags-and-sleeves/products/dash-macbook-ipad-sleeve

I would say the only con is that there is almost no lip at the top which makes the elastic band actually touch the laptop when putting it over the top. That or it gets extremely close to touching. I think its touching though.

If you don't mind me asking, what briefcase do you use. I'm in the market for one but haven't seen anything I like yet. Cheers.

I use a Land Leather Santa Fe briefcase that I bought years ago on St John. It's been able to handle everything including my pre-retina 15" MBP, but it's probably too Anglican or Southwestern for Scottish tastes!

Sir/madam? I am a citizen of the world, I am neither defined, nor hampered by a geographic location ;)

I actually rather like that truth be told. It has a certain classic, almost retro style that appeals to me. It's certainly made it onto my shortlist.

Flying back to California next week and still don't have a case.

Maybe considering the iBlaison case...But have concerns about how much weight it adds.

For those that have this case, did your MBP get heavy?

Probably will take a trip to the Apple Store to see what options they have.

Here is my Joli Originals leather sleeve in grey, with black insides for the 13" TouchBar. I went with this after having a Joli for the last 5 years on my 11" Air. Expensive for a sleeve but excellent fit, and I prefer the opening being on the short side as it offers more protection if dropped and covers the exposed edges far more than the Harber London sleeve, which was my second choice.

It's tricky to get the shade of grey spot on so I've included two photos.

Could you post the 5 year old sleeve ? Would like to see how aged or weathered look.
