First time Mac owner here (after years and years of Windows)... I bought onenofnthsie MoKo cases from Amazon. Fits perfectly and it doesn't add much bulk to the device.

I also have a case, will post a picture if that for those who are interested!

Finally had to replace the Brenthaven backpack I'd been using - one of the shoulder straps came apart.

Replaced it with a Thule Enroute Blur 2 in bright orange. (I also use a Booq sleeve.) Works well, and I appreciate the extra room for anything else I need/want to take back and forth. Discontinued per the Thule website, but seem to be pretty widely available.

Congrats on the purchase!

Why the change after years and years of Windows?

I first pulled the trigger on an iPhone (I had a couple of Windows Phones) because of more efficient and polished apps (e.g. Outlook, Office, Xbox, Spotify, Facebook, etc.). Then, I learned about the benefits of unification between iOS and Mac OS (iMessages, AirDrop, Safari, etc.) Also, as a software/web developer, having Unix under the hood with a nice integrated shell is perfect. I could have simply bought another Surface or the Dell XPS 13 and use Linux but Macs seem to have a proven track record of great balance between software and hardware. Having said, I'm enjoying my new MBP and I really have not much to complain about... and plus I can still use all of Microsoft services (OneDrive, Office, Outlook, and Xbox). ;)

Haha, best send another message, or ask for a custom one for you?
I got a nice reply from Pack & Smooch, if you have a 2015 MacBook Pro you can't charge your laptop when it's in the case. They said it's only for the new model (2016)

I also replied if they could notch it as a special order on the 2015 and pay extra, waiting for a reply. I think that's a great feature to charge while its in the case.

Cool, hopefully they can do that for you!

I probably won't order it if they can't, may opt for a slide in case long way so I can charge it from the side like the Joli leather one but man that thing is over $130.00 not sure I would pay that much for a case.

Yeah, this was about the limit for me as the MBP is enough as it is!" lol

Currently using matte case from monocozzi. Surprisingly, my macbook has fallen to the floor, lil bit hard, worrying that my mac will dent in some part. But? it wasn't, but my case did. Lil bit crack in my case.

Hi all,

I am looking for sleeve/case for my new nTB MacBook Pro 13".

What I need is following:
  • ideally black colour but could be grey as well
  • bumper around the whole sleeve to protect drops and bumps (not that necessary but good to have)
  • no zippers and metal parts to prevent possible scratches, ideally no magnets as well (mandatory)
  • easy to get MacBook in and out
  • possibility to charge MacBook while it's in the sleeve (not that necessary but good to have)
And those 2 sleeves seems to be the best choices available:

1) SPECK Flaptop Sleeve
http://www.speckproducts.com/apple/...k-pro-retina-13-cases/MBPR-13-FT.html#start=3

Biggest CON - seems it wont be possible to easily charge it while MacBook is in the sleeve.

2) ICON Sleeve with TENSAERLite
https://www.incase.com/shop/sleeves/icon-sleeve-mb-retina-13/blackslate-2/

Biggest CON - one review said the magnet used in this case trigger the sensor to put the hard drive to sleep, as it would normally do when shutting the lid of your laptop. Not a big issue but its there.

My biggest concern is that both cases seems to be designed for 2015 and older MBP models and they both will probably be too big for the 2016 model. I would like to have something with snug fit.

Does anyone has any experience with any of those cases please? Or any idea when they will have versions also for 2016 models? Tried to search but havent found any information so far.

Or is there any other sleeve I missed which meets all the criteria?

Btw. I have had SPECK PixelSleeve for my MacBook Air for over 5 years and it has been an excelent product. I have been using it also happily for my rMBP 2015 (even thought it was a little big bigger) but for 2016 there is way to much space.

Thanks a lot for help!

No experience with either of those but the SF Bags case looks like it meets your criteria:

How perfect? As in ZERO wiggle? Any in depth photos? Trying to figure out a very slim case.

Zero wiggle, very snug. The only drawback is that the zipper comes close to the casing if you are slipping it in and out quickly. However the way the zipper lining is, it's made that you can just roll it back and then there's no chance of any scratching. I can take some pics later.

The only thing I don't like about the in case one is the rubber bumper around the case, I know it gives protection for drops but I don't like the way it looks.

I've been a fan of the incase icon sleeve for years, and have one for a 12" rMB, 15", and am waiting for the 2016 version.

The magnet concern is so blown out of the water. It doesn't shut off the disk, just turns off the display - and only if you have it opened, and resting on the sleeve (which I usually do). There's about a 1" spot or so within the case that does it. All you do it is move the laptop 1" or so, and the display comes back on.

It's a bit jarring the very first time, if you're not aware of it. But now, it's no issue at all. Those cases are amazing.
