Puma 15" Engineer Sleeve (Black)

I just picked this up at the Apple Store in Aventura, FL. I haven't seen this at any of the other Apple Store's in the area, and this model sleeve has shown up on the Apple Store website, but not this particular color. Overall, it seems well constructed and I like the looks, especially with the black leather (leatherette?) on the bottom. It fits the rMBP nice and snug, and seems to provide good protection (it'll be going inside my backpack). Here are some photos. Overall for $39.95 I think its a good value and hope it serves me well. :)

Post away!

Here are some pics of the HEX Black and Grey Striped case:

The case actually fits PERFECTLY, I never would have guessed it was mean't for the regular MBP. It fits very firmly, no wiggling at all. The case is very well padded and I wouldn't be too scared about dropped it on the floor with the laptop inside.

I received my replacement Colcasac in the mail today. While it appeared to be slightly larger, this must have been my eyes playing tricks on me because the fit was nearly identical to the first one. Perhaps I'm simply being too picky, but I do not believe that it fits correctly.

I would expect as with any similar case that the seams would line up with the sides of the rMBP. With the Colcasac the rMBP has to be placed so one side is above the seam and the other is below one. This causes a gap and a some extra "puffiness" (for lack of a better word) at the bottom corner. This also results in the velcro not lining up correctly.

It's a shame, as the case feels really nice and looks sweet. It just doesn't fit as I think it should. I'll be returning both to the company next week.

I know a couple of people have posted that they got one and it fit well... others have had similar experience as mine and were seeking an exchange. I'd like to hear if any of those people have received their replacements and how they fit.

I've noticed the same thing, it doesn't fit naturally, you have to slide it to match the seams to the sides of the laptop.. Did you notice the seams were …rough? I didn't want to put my rMBP in it anymore for the fear that it might scrape it. So, I asked Colcasac for a full refund and will be sending back both sleeves.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from them yet, as I'm not sure how this refund process works and they were supposed to send me instructions to do this.

You prefer that to the Radtech ones? I've just ordered Radtech ones for both my retina and my wife's MBA.

I got the Waterfield Sleeve Case and Piggy Back, only I have the leather trim version:

If I'm not going to need accessories, I just leave the piggy back at home. Makes for very minimal bulk on the go, and the materials, padding, and build quality are about as good as it gets. I've dumped water on this sleeve (on purpose to test), and it just rolls off of it. I suspect it would protect your Mac pretty well in a rain storm.

I also bought the Incase 15-inch sleeve and am incredibly disappointed by how loose the fit is. The sides have waves in them due to all of the excess space.

Ugh, going to return it.

So far all I see is SFBags with stuff for the rMBP but I'm not sure if I like how their stuff has an entire side left open.

Wat? The waterfield sleeves and cases are generally customizable. In the case of the sleevecase, there's an option for a flap, and the hardcase and clityslicker cases have flaps. Only the outback and suede jacket sleeves have one side open.

Which inCase sleeve did you buy?

I just received 2 WaterField sleeves from sfbags.com which they now offer for the Retina MBP, both the SleeveCase (I selected the leather trim with flap) and Suede Jacket Sleeve:

http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases-mac.php
http://www.sfbags.com/products/laptopsuedejacket/laptopsuedejacket.htm

I selected these after many recommendations on the forums here, and I wanted to report that the fit and quality is outstanding. Worth waiting a few days for delivery to the UK.

Can you post some pics please...

Yeah, that was one of the things I noted in an earlier post about my first Colcasac.

Yeah I meant the two you mentioned that are open. I dislike that.

You should've gotten the Incase Neoprene "Slim" sleeve. I purchased one for mine and it fits perfectly.

I ordered tje CitySlicker by SFBags. They never disappoint me in anyway. Their products are well-crafted, the material is well chosen, and services are just great.

I will post some pictures when it gets here. Oh and I also use the Wrapsol full body shield on the rMBP. Thanks to this thread I scored a discount (I think it was a 40% disc couple weeks ago).

So excited:D

I've had mine on order over 3 weeks and they told me they expected it to ship out by the 7th. No word yet. Hope you don't have to wait too long!

Have you emailed them yet and ask why? They should respond pretty fast though (from my previous experience with them)

Wirelessly posted

Someone please post pics/vid/review of their Waterfield Travel Express bag for the rMBP when they receive theirs. Looks like they're shipping the week of July 23, 2012 (next week).
