Has anyone purchased the Incase ICON Sleeve for the new 15" MacBook Pro?
https://www.incase.com/shop/macbook-sleeves/icon-sleeve-with-diamond-ripstop-for-macbook-pro-15/
I like it, seems to fit very snug.. Problem is no one has stock, have ordered through the Apple online store, however a 3-4wk wait time..
Would love to hear if someone already has theirs?

You can read up on post #4222 and #4223 - experience with both the Icon and the Slim for the 2016 MBPs.

Waiting for the tbMBP Icon to arrive in Canada at some point....

Hi there

Anyone know if there are ultra thin covers/ cases for the new MacBook Pro's (13'')?

I'm looking for something like the super thin plastic wrap that is on the MBP when you unbox it but made of cloth fabric or so.

Not looking for cases with zippers but just something really thin when putting it in a bag or elsewhere to avoid scratches.
you can try this one

Not many mentions of the Be.ez sleeves in this thread, at least not for the past several tens of pages. I went and ordered this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06ZYCS46G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The color-scheme is admittedly cheesy and as such not exactly to my liking, but this particular model is the only one confirmed to match the dimensions of the 2016 MBP; there are a couple others that are advertised as being suitable but according to customer reviews, some of those are actually made for the previous model.

Just wanted to post here to follow up in case anyone was in a similar boat as me:

  • Bought the iBlasion case on Amazon for the 15" tbMBP
  • Then ditched shell for the Incase ICON slim bag
  • Just attached the new Incase Dots Hard Shell for 15" tbMBP
The Incase hard shell is leaps and bounds better than the iBlasion one, with the most important element being that it is significantly lighter. The iBlasion has a better feel - though that feel is certainly going to peel off with use - but the Incase case is incredibly light and thin.

The Incase ICON slim sleeve was also really nice, but for my usage I felt a hard shell was better. Plus, the hard shell dulls the sound of typing on a hard surface (helpful for class/library/open headphones/etc.)

That's a 2015 15" in a Nanuk 925 with pick-n-pluck foam. Made in Canada. $140 on Amazon.

I've just received my Harber London slim leather case for my 2016 MBPTB.
The inside is an itchy wool and especially because the case is tight I am worried about scratches, both the painted body and the glossy apple logo.

Is it possible that this itchy wool on the inside will scratch it?
Feel free to ask any questions about the case.

Doubt it'll scratch it, given these are cast aluminium.
Some more pix would be good... is it a tight fit, looks so. And does the top stick out, per the pic?

I am not home and I will return the case, I will picture it later. it is extremely tight you need to use force to get it in and out, the top does not stick out at all, the outer case is very nice looking and luxurious. later :)

Recently got the incase icon and it is a slight too big for my messenger bag unfortunately... Does anyone have experience with the Inateck line of cases available on amazon? Any of them fit the 15" 2016 tbMBPs?

Has anybody here bought the Incase Icon Slim Backpack? Am looking for a general purpose rucksack for work use but one which isn't took bulky. The normal Icon backpack seems to get great reviews but seems very big. I need to carry my 13" MBP, a few books, maybe an iPad and all the usual cables and the like. I don't need one which can be used for overnight stays or anything like that.

Any recommendations?

Just taken delivery of this: Incase ICON Sleeve with Tensaerlite for 13-Inch MacBook Pro Retina - Heather Black. First impressions are it is sweet. I wanted a vertical orientation with good edge protection and this fits the bill perfectly. However with the MacBook Pro 13" TouchBar there is approx a half inch gap at the top and side :( I have emailed Incase support to find out if this is indeed correct or whether I have been supplied the wrong case. Given how pricey this sleeve is I want it to fit right - that's not unreasonable IMHO. Otherwise it's going back and my hunt begins anew :(

Bought the Incase hardshell case on your recommendation. Coming from an iBlason case I also notice the weight difference. Was sceptical about getting a clear case for my space grey MBP as I've seen photos that don't do it justice, but this looks quite nice. Wasn't too keen on the black frosted look as it's way too dark for what is essentially a light grey colour on the MBP.

Only negatives are that the clips aren't as smooth as the iBlason case and are quite sharp, as well as this case will be less protective from drops than the iBlason.

Sounds like you've got one of the old sleeves which wasn't designed for the new MBP, hence the half inch gap. The new ones don't come in that colour - its just black and grey now and with a "Diamond Ripstop" pattern. There's still a slight gap in the new sleeves which I think is so you can charge them in-situ, but nowhere near as much as before.

I'd send it back and ask for the right one.

I returned the Incase ICON Sleeve with Tensaerlite for 13-Inch MacBook Pro Retina - Heather Black that I pre-ordered from Amazon @ nearly £68 and got the proper one
Incase 13" ICON Sleeve with Diamond Ripstop for MacBook Pro - Thunderbolt 3 Port (USB-C) from Apple for £60.
Fits much better and saved a few quid too. Can't complain about that. The Heather Black was nicer than the Diamond Black IMHO but as it sits in my Crumpler rucksack most of the time it's irrelevant really.
