I got the icon sleeve for the 2017 MBP 15" and can confirm it is a perfect fit. While there is maybe a 2mm gap as pictured earlier in the thread the Mac is not sliding around but sits tight. This gap is really needed to slide your fingers below the laptop and pull it out.
I cannot comment on the 13" version.
I am liking the Tomtoc 360 sleeve for my 2015 13" MBP. It's super soft inside and has a pouch on the outside for the charger-this is critical as so many sleeves don't have room for anything other than the laptop.

I am hearing this more and more and so either Incase fixed the initial batches or people were hasty in criticising the necessary gap. I have just ordered the sleeve for my 15" and will comment on it here in due course.
I have the 2017 13" tbMBP and the Icon sleeve (for tbMBP so they claim) and can confirm it definitely slides around in inside the sleeve. There's also a 3 to 4mm gap all around. See my earlier post #4297.
Maybe the 15" is a much better fit?
My partner also bought the Incase hardcore and used it with my leftover Icon sleeve (for rMBP) and that combination fits together perfectly. No sliding and very snug.
I'm interested in this case as I think it's looks top quality.. just want to ask is it leather or plastic on the inside of the case? Also do you recon it would fit on the Macbook pro if it has a protective skin on it?Macbook Pro 2017 with Vaja Case View attachment 711014
It's a soft case. It has a spine around the outer edge to keeps its shape, but deforms easily with a single hand. It's meant more for scratch protection and possibly keeping the corners from impacting if you drop your backpack/laptop bag.To those with Incase Icon sleeves:
I am between ordering Incase 15" or Thule Gauntlet 3.0 for my 2017" MBP 15"
How hard is the Incase? Because mainly what i am concerned about is the possibility of bending when bag is stuffed full. So i want my case to be "extra rugged" to protect it from any possible bending....

It's not often I can provide info but I'm happy to when I can.Bummer Thanks for the info tho!
70$ for soft sleeve is little too much to me. It's a very nice, but i'll get something more rugged.
Hi,
Thank you for contacting Incase Designs. The current unit on our site is "compatible" with more than one size, so you are correct.
All that said, we will have a new one soon that will be a better and more precise fit coming soon. I wish i had the receipt date, but they should be here between now and the end of October. Hopefully sooner. Please check back with us for updates.
Cheers
got this from incase about the fit of the icon sleeve for the current macbook pros:
i ask them about their current icon sleeve for the latest macbook pros (sorry for my bad english)Is that regarding the new Icon? If so, that's a total joke as the labelling clearly states it's for the USB C MBPs and does not list this model as one of many compatibles.
Interesting... I wonder if this related to the 13" sleeve only (despite it being advertised as MacBook Pro USB-C). The 15" fits pretty well. While there is 2-3mm gap I view this as practical as it allows to easily remove the notebook from the sleeve. Any tighter and you would have to peel it out.
