Holy sh*t that's wayyyyy too expensive... I understand that it's leather. But damn... I thought "design- brand" were ripping us...

I ordered Incase Icon for the 15" TB3. Let's see how it goes. Might just stick with it cause there really aren't any viable options that don't take my second kidney... (Apple already did take the first one)
Plus it's only for a 13" laptop...

What I am learning so far in the past week looking at this stuff; leather work done by hand lasts a very, very long time, and it's building is difficult. Sure, automated and fake leather is cheap, but the quality and durability is highly suspect.

It's interesting to see myself willing to spend $1700+ on a laptop, but unwilling to spend over $100 on a case that's suitable for it's transportation.

I went with the water field, it in my mind wasn't cheap and a buddy scoffed at the price and ordered his $10 amazon special instead.

Yeah if you are buying 2000-3000€/$ laptop you should probably buy accersories to protect it. However...

What i did is that i purchased icon sleeve, laptop bag and dbrnand skins. Those on total are litte over 100$. And I can argue that it will give the laptop A lot better protection than that 400-500$ leather bag...

Just my 2 cents.

I ordered the waterfield sleevecase in waxed canvas...

It's beautiful online. Can't wait to see it in person.

Hey! Thank you very much for that tip!
Because of your posting I got the best looking sleeve(case) for my 2015 13" rMBP :)
Only two days delivery to Germany.

Bought the Incase Icon and there's definitely some gap. Not a huge fan because it adds so much width and length that my laptop barely fits in my backpack now. Any recommendations for other slimmer sleeves? I just want something that fits like a glove but have read many sleeves have zipper scratch issues.

Any thoughts on Caison for instance?

Edit: I have a 15" MBP TB

I had the opportunity to do some serious travel with the 2017 MBP 15". I bought the incase zipperless sleeve and the incase slim case backpack. The sleeve fits well into the backpack that offers a lot of space for accessories etc without becoming bulky. The incase sleeve leaves some room for the 15" MBP but it is not slipping around. The 2mm gap that exists instead makes it easier to take it out. Overall, I am happy with that choice. Will use this from now on as the daily carrier.

Hey everyone,

I have a 2014 Macbook Pro 13" Retina and I will be attending school in September. I'm going to be taking my laptop everyday and I want to make sure my laptop looks as good as possible at the end of the program.

I've been looking into screen protectors and keyboard covers and cases. I want a case that won't scratch the aluminum body, but I want a case that looks good as well. I'm not sure about skins, since removals seem like a pain in the ass and wet skins; like the invisible shield is something I want to avoid all together because of the wet application.

I've read some reviews on Spec, Incase and others and all seem to have some form of scratching. Tech21 is newer so not much feedback is available.

What are some cases you guys have used and recommend?

Hard cases often do more damage than good. If any dust gets under there, it basically makes the case sandpaper with every bump. I don't recommend it. I use a RadTech Sleevez slip in case. It's VERY minimal protection, so if you're worried about that, find a different case. But if you're careful with your expensive possessions, it's not an issue.

I don't recommend SFBags. I had a bad experience on here with them several years back, and they went unhinged when I posted the situation here, going so far as to threaten me. There are far too many companies to deal with who make good cases to tolerate that as a customer.

Anyone after a sleeve / minimalist bag for the 13" MBPtb, the STM Blazer 11" is a perfect fit (quite tight, but still goes on without stretching too much).

The back open pocket fits an iPad Air2 (w/ leather smart case), and the front zip fits a few small dongles & the USB-C charger (but it bulges a bit at that point).

Mine cost AUD$42, but they're currently US$20 here - https://www.stmgoods.com/blazer-laptop-sleeve.html

Update on this - the Blazer 11" is still going well 9 months later. I intended to use it mainly as a sleeve, but I ended up using it 95% of the time as a messenger bag - it's pretty compact but stores just enough cables/etc to manage.

Still seems to be around US$20 too...

Hello to everyone!
In the backpack(Incase Icon Backpack), which I ordered from Amazon, top strap without a logo("Incase"), although in the pictures and in the overviews of who I saw everywhere there is a logo. What is the reason? Is it possible that I received a fake?

It really surprises me that Acme no longer seem to make Mac-specific skinny sleeves. I tried buying the current 13" one for my new MBP but it's far too big. The one for my 11" MBA was the best case I've ever had, fitted perfectly and took up so little space. Have settled on an Incase for my MBP, it does the job but is not as nice.
