After browsing through this thread, made an order on the Tomtoc 360 sleeve for my 15" 2017.

Now the question is, what is the best messenger styled hard shell bag (Something like Thule Gauntlet 3.0 bag, unfortunately MBP will not fit inside there with a sleeve... probably) that i can fit my sleeved MBP?

Any suggestions?

Prepare for disappointment. With the pad inserted, your MBP will not fit. Without the pad, the sleeve is too big.

Luckily i only had it in the Amazon basket.... Because i was browsing for an laptop bag aswell.

Can you explain a little bit more? At earlier post you praised the product...?

I did indeed. After a while the fiddling with the corners to fit around my MBP drove me crazy though so I got a refund. It is simply not made for the new MBPs which is a shame as the sleeve is well made. In the Amazon UK marketplace there are many reviews stating the same issues; I suggest you consider such reviews to form your own opinion.

I did read couple of pages worth of amazon comments. And TBH after reading those the general view of this product isn't that bad...

Did you purchase 15" model of this product? People with 15.6" model has some issues....

And for the price, do you have any better recommendation?

15 inch. I think I've said enough on this topic. By all means buy and see how you feel. Good luck.

Ok, after i have scrolled Amazon for the past 2 days and multiple hours.... Incase Icon it is. There just isn't that many good sleeves for the MBP... TomToc is one but after thinking it, the zippers bother me.

Now i need littlebit of help. I need a shoulder strap briefcase that can fit the MBP with the Icon inside of it... (40,31/27,79/1,5 cm)

Most of the 15.6 inch bags i have scrolled from Amazon are too small... Any recommendations?

This was precisely my view. Although I am put out by Incase saying that a revised Icon sleeve is being made which is specifically for the 2016/17 MBPS, when the current version is marketed as the very same!
so, i checked back with incase and they are definitely making a new version of the icon sleeve which is now in production:

I'm interested in this case as I think it's looks top quality.. just want to ask is it leather or plastic on the inside of the case? Also do you recon it would fit on the Macbook pro if it has a protective skin on it?

Thanks

Yes it has backbone polycarbonate to support the form. The case fits nicely to my Macbook Pro 2017. It adds noticeable weight though

I will admit that the old ICON sleeve had a much tighter fit across the width of the rMBP. There is almost zero movement. BUT - It was also quite a bit more difficult to slide it in and out which may have been a concern for Incase in terms of longevity for the case if there was more stretching and pulling.
I liked your post and people needed to see your pics. I did the same comparison and concluded this was meant for the tMBP 13". Under this new design, wouldn't the sleeve absorb less of the collision's impact and wouldn't more of it would be transferred to the MacBook? I just don't see why InCase would purposely design the sleeve to provide a looser fit.

Personally, None. I considered one, but when searching the topic further. I have seen reports that yes the screen protector works fine. But after a while (with some of those) when you wan't to remove it. It can take parts of the AG-coating as well.

There are some "washable" screen protectors. But with those there is a risk that dirt can get under that protector and potentially scratch it.

However. If you want to protector your screen from the MBP's keyboard (that can scratch it)

This one is great for it: https://www.radtech.com/products/screensavrz-macbook-pro-keyboard-cover

To anyone considering purchasing the incase icon sleeve (w/ tensaerlite), note that the gap between the long and short edge is quite substantial. The MBP 15" literally wiggles inside the case. Quite disappointed with the purchase but I'll be returning it soon.

You mean something like this? That's the one I want, but haven't gotten yet... have to figure out how to justify it

Holy sh*t that's wayyyyy too expensive... I understand that it's leather. But damn... I thought "design- brand" were ripping us...

I ordered Incase Icon for the 15" TB3. Let's see how it goes. Might just stick with it cause there really aren't any viable options that don't take my second kidney... (Apple already did take the first one)

Yeah I know... that is the problem with it (and why I don't have it yet myself), but I think it's just incredible looking...

The Peak Design messenger bag is pretty popular I think as well, though I don't know how much better $220 is in the end
