Well, I watch this topic from time to time, though I never participated here.

I own a mbp 15 late 2013.
But for sure my new mbp, this year or the next one, will be the new 16'.

I want to tell my experience here, from similar product.
I bough such a case, external shell, plastic, almost transparent,
but not from a known brand.
It was good for many years.
Protection was ok regarding my mbp.

But when I finally decided to remove it after many years,
I saw something really bad.
The bottom part, the main body of mbp (keyboard, main computer, not the screen),
was slightly deformed!
I could not believe in my eyes.
It was almost a little bit of curved!
I could not see it all these years while the machine was inside the shell.
I seriously suspect the case about this deformation.
I think alloy is easy to be deformed as well.

I have to say that I am very careful about the handling of my computers, cleaning, etc.
I suspect that the external case I had all these years in mbp,
somehow internally supported the machine in wrong angles,
and also the absorb of the pressure on the track pad, may have played a role too,
because mbp was not all alone on the desk but inside this shell.

Do you observed such bad incidents yourself?
I know that many of you possibly do not keep your machines for so long.
Or possibly the branded cases are really better in this topic?
I do not know.

All I know, it is that I really want an permanent external case for any mbp I own,
but I do not want to face once again such situations.

I want to hear your opinions and experiences.

In short I have had zero problems with any case & certainly not to a point of bending the MBP.
I always use a hard shell case & my 2015 15''MBP is absolutely spotless scratch dent free with only key wear evident.

I would have no idea why your MBP could have suffered from this & is odd.

still love mine, absolutely.

Received my Woolnut sleeve for the 16" a few days ago; it's exactly what I wanted, and looks even nicer in person.
Still think the price is kinda high, but probably justified given the quality and attention to detail.

Thanks again for your feedback, appreciate it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a sleeve for the new macbook pro 13" (2020) model? I can't seem to find one. I have found a few on amazon that state they should fit but they look like they were really for the 2019 model.

I bought this sleeve for my MacBook Pro 13 2020. It fits perfectly and very rugged. Very impressed with the build quality.

I bought this 13" Hyzuo faux suede sleeve for my 2020 13" MBP and I love it. Quite slim and snug, but fits the 2020 model without issue and confers pretty good water-resistant protection. It also comes with a matching accessories pouch that's large enough for the charging brick, cable, and a USB-C Hub. Would note that this particular sleeve would likely not fit a MBP/MBA with any sort of case on it. They do have a larger 13.5" size though.

I am looking for a sleeve for my newly purchased MBP16.

I was initially interested by these two:
I particularly like that the edges look well protected with both of these and the inside made in a way that might not scratch the computer, Apple logo included.

But I realise it will be impossible with these to plug the charger when the computer will be stored inside.

This I am trying to find as close as possible to those references that would also give the possibility to charge the computer while it is stored inside the sleeve.

This last one seems to be able to answer that need:https://incase.com/products/icon-sleeve-with-diamond-ripstop-for-macbook-pro-15-thunderbolt-usb-c

I have read before that a MBP16 does not fit inside this one, can anybody confirm?

If you know any other option that would fit my needs, feel free to share it.

Thank you in advance.

For anyone that was interested in the Woolenex case for the 16" MacBook Pro mine has still not arrived. Did get a full refund though and have the Tenseralite sleeve so will probably just stick with that for now.

I was tempted by that, but without a handle, I was hesitant. Instead I'm almost sure about getting ZIP LAPTOP BRIEF. It's not shown, but it includes a should strap and the medium size fits my 15" MBP and has a spot for my iPad

This Waterfield Designs bag remains my absolute favorite. The MBP 13" gen 10 MPB fits in it perfectly. I rarely use the shoulder strap but it does come in handy on occasion.

Lost in post? That could be a blessing going by the reviews... well what's left of the reviews censored on the incase website! Glad you got a refund.
I will still get one but only from the apple store as buying it from EU sore for returning right now isnt an option.

Yeh it probably worked out in the end. Still post up your review when you get one. I haven't ruled out purchasing from Apple in the future depending on how I go without one.

I will do. Right now the incase shell is ticking all the boxes for me until I can get the grippy fabric shell.

The Incase website looks like its removed some of the poor reviews for the 16" Woolenex which bumps its rating up to 4/5 stars.
I noticed the same, that what kept me not purchasing it. I am looking for the same design but in other brand still not find yet :(

FYI, I purchased the 16" woolenex case about a month ago. It had the gap issue mentioned here. Additionally, it started to fray in a couple of places. Last week I submitted a service request and they sent me a replacement. The replacement doesn't have the gap issue. So I would suggest anyone with that problem reach out to Incase for a replacement.

I'm thinking of getting a Tucano Second Skin for my new MBPr that is on its way to me.

I have one of these currently for my 2009 15" MBP, and its nice and snug, it doesn't have an edge to it like most of the new cases do, so I'm hoping it will also be nice and snug for the MBPr.

Give your feedback on the best cases to buy for the MBPr.

Specifically, whether the case is slack or snug, price, and your general rating as a user.

Picture/links would be good too!

Thanks for the reviews in advance!
I just bought the Thule Gauntlet Attaché, and it fits my 2020 MBP 13 like a glove. Spent weeks looking for something to fit exactly right WITH protection. This one's it for me.

I bought a sleeve targeted towards a Surface 13” device from the Microsoft store for a 13” MacBook Pro (TB3) once and it was perfect. It was some fashion brand, I can’t remember. So that’s worth considering.

I thought it was funny that I could get a much better sleeve for a MacBook from the Microsoft store than anything Apple was offering at the time and likely still. The only reason I even looked in the MS store was because everything Apple had was so crap. Their stores are becoming so generic. They used to have lots of brands.

It was half price too. Full price was over AU$100!

..these look pretty nice. Think I saw the slimmer sleeve version of that the other day while out and about, also looked proper good.

Would be interested to hear how you get on with it after a few weeks.
Yes... I saw (and held) the thinner one, but I felt that if I dropped it, there wouldn't be as much protection as in the one I eventually chose. Maybe that's due to the thicker attaché design, but I feel as if I could drop this one and nothing would happen. Also, working with it actually IN the case itself, the chassis gets hotter than usual as it's sitting, basically, in a basin of heat...unless you invert the case and use the opposite side, but then you'll run the risk toppling it if you reach for something or aren't paying attention. Of course, you could (and probably should) take it out of the case whilst working for proper heat dispersion. My fans were running ~3,940 rpm (around 144 degrees)in the case vs. 0 rpm (100 degrees) out of it. So almost a 50% boost in temp there.

All in all, I'm glad I got the protection sorted, and I'm loving this case so far. Good luck in your search, mate. ?
