Thanks @SlowPokeProductions - I just recently got a Woolnut leather sleeve for my MBP.
Really happy with it, and for most situations the protection / cushion it offers is really enough (it's in a backpack along with other stuff I need).
Sometimes bringing just the laptop does suffice though, so kinda keeping my eyes open for a more rugged bag - and that Thule is the best I've seen so far, also like the design, plus it isn't overly expensive.
Thanks for mentioning the heat issue though, I guess this will be a problem with a 16"
?

I bought this one in the blue colour off Apple for my MBP 13 (which hasn’t arrived yet). I like the minimal slim design. The front pocket is quite tight though so ok for cords. There are some reviews on YouTube but they are all non-English.

I have a separate case for adaptors, ports and chargers I bought on Amazon which is very good quality considering the price.

What did you think of the Native Union sleeve? I'm debating between that and the Woolnut one.

Saw this one on Etsy. Looks good and it’s pretty cheap so I’ll give it a go.

Anyone else tried it?

https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/740648120/macbook-pro-16-sleeve-case-cover

I (eventually) got this sleeve in from the UK. It’s well made, attractive and fits very well. I like that it opens on the short side and uses a Velcro closure so there’s no zip that can scratch, catch or break. The inner lining is nice and soft.

On the downside, I would’ve liked the padding to be thicker. It’s fine, but not as thick or protective as some other sleeves like the Icon neoprene sleeves. It’s probably good enough for general use around the house and would fit well in other bags, but I feel like a hard bang or knock could make a small impression (dent) if you’re unlucky.

Unfortunately, I got a black lining instead of the brown pictured in the ad, and communication from the seller wasn’t the best either (no tracking and they didn’t reply to my messages/questions).

Other than that I’m happy with it and especially happy to have avoided buying a Made In China product, which I’m quite passionate about.

I just got hold of this CushCase sleeve as well (with the extra pocket). It is a nice basic sleeve; I would have liked to see the foam centre layer to be a thicker/stronger material.

That’s the same brand I just posted about (above yours) and we have exactly the same opinion/review. It needs some more padding and then it would have been perfect.

I recently upgrade from a 15 inch Touch Bar model to 16. This after going through quite a few units with issues such as we've all heard, be it very loud coil wine, kernel panics right out of the box, etc. Settled on a great 2.3/32/1tb refurb.

Anyway... on my 15 I loved my acme made skinny sleve https://www.acmemade.com/collections/sleeves and they had a version for the 15 that fit like a glove. They don't make a 16 inch specific version and the XL they recommended is a little loose.

Basically, I'm looking for a non-zippered neoprene sleeve with a small amount of sturdiness for some extra protection when in my backpack. I'd also be open to a brand new backpack with enough protection on it's own for Father's Day ;)

I tried this one from Amazon and although it fits well, it's extremely floppy and I don't feel like it adds any meaningful protection.

Does anyone have the Native Union Stow Slim for the 2020 13 inch mbp? I know it wont close with the 16 inch inside but how about with the 13 inch?

I'm looking for a magnetic closure slim sleeve for a 2020 13 inch mbp. I'm familiar with the bellroy and incase offerings, any other ideas?

I have a sleeve for my 16" that I'm mostly happy with, so now I'm looking for a case or bag to compliment it. I've mostly owned "messenger"-style shoulder bags for my MacBooks before, but I'm leaning towards a backpack this time. Problem is, I want something fairly slim (like a briefcase), but a lot of laptop backpacks that fit the 16" and have reasonable padding and protection are also kind of bulky and unattractive, which I don't want.

I want something that's good quality and attractive, but not ridiculously priced like a high-end or luxury fashion brand, unless it's really good and heavily discounted that is! I've looked at some of the Samsonite backpacks and one or two of them seem okay. What other brands might I consider?

I've been rocking a Filson for the past 6-7 years. They're pretty well known for being indestructible and lasting 20+ years. I wrote a couple blog posts on it if anyone was interested on how these bags performed thru the test of time.

FILSON 257 BRIEFCASE 6 YEARS LATER (ALMOST) – THE STYLISHTIC

FILSON TALON ERA VS CURRENT ERA COMPARISON – THE STYLISHTIC

New vs. 6 years later.

The Filson 257 is awesome and my main laptop bag too.
Unfortunately they don’t make them anymore :(

The 256 is too small and the new padded laptop brief is too big.

Hey all!

Any suggestions on hardshell cases for the 2020 13" MBP?

I can purchase the Incase shell from last year's model but worried about it fitting the 2020 version.

What did you think of the Native Union sleeve? I'm debating between that and the Woolnut one.

I went with the Native Union Stow Slim for MacBook Pro 16” w/ the Native Union Stow Organizer. The sleeve fits my 16” MacBook Pro like a glove, and with the soft interior there’s no need to worry about scratches. Paired with the organizer I have everything I need for trips with the right level of protection.

I carry my MacBook Pro, iPhone 11 Pro, Beats Studio Wireless, AirPods Pro, and an Apple Watch when I travel. Have the following packed into the Stow Organizer:

  1. Macbook 16" 96W Charger
  2. 18W USB C Charger
  3. 5W USB Power Adapter
  4. MacBook USB C to USB C Charging Cable
  5. USB C to Lightning Cable
  6. USB A to Lightning Cable
  7. USB Beats Charging Cable
  8. Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter
  9. Apple Watch Magnetic Charger to USB-C Cable

I managed to get all of those items added to the organizer, and there is plenty of room to spare. An amazing amount of space for such a small organizer! Both are the usual high quality fit and finish I’m used to from Native Union. Matches all my other Native Union stuff too. Five stars!

Tim
