I'm on my phone so I didn't look at the links. Anyway, I can only tell you that I have a Incase Sleeve that was made specifically for the Retina MBP. They have sleeves for the classic MBP that look just the same so be careful. But, if you're buying it from Apple and it says it's Retina than it is. That's where I bought mine and I couldn't be happier. I can tell you that the sleeve is tight so managing to put a regular MBP in it is not possible.
Another thing that is not possible with this sleeve is to charge the MBP while it's in it because the zipper is on top and not on the sides.

Hey, thanks for the info! I just realized that Incase does NOT sell macbook pro retina cases on their official website, only on apple's website! thats freaking crazy! and there's no room for the charger, right?

I want to buy a sleeve for my 15" retina macbook pro, but i realize that there are a lot of sellers that advertise their produtcs as "made for retina" but in reality they were made for the classic macbook pro, so they fit loose , baggy... can you recommend a good sleeve specifically designed for the 15" retina macbook pro? I would like one with a pocket for the charger, so far these two are my choices:

Booq Mamba Sleeve 15. I'm not sure if its a macbook retina version or if it's for the regular macbook pro version wich fits the retina too, can someone confirm this?

My two choices remain :

+Mamba sleeve 15 , which im not sure if its a macbook retina optmized version or if it works with the regular macbook pro, i think its exclusive for the macbook pro retina because i sorted the sleeves for the regular macbook and it didnt show up for me , can someone confirm this? http://www.booqbags.com/us/sleeves/m...eeve/MSL15-GRY

+Incase 15" Neoprene Pro Sleeve for MacBook Pro with Retina display (the one you have ) http://store.apple.com/us/product/HA...oretinadisplay
Yes, I read about it before buying it and I think it's an Apple Store exclusive. I didn't know that exclusive went as far as not being sold at Incase's website. That's weird.

And no, there's no room for the charger or whatever you want to put there besides the MBP (some paper sheets would obviously fit next to the MBP but you know what I mean). All I have to say is that, for my needs, it's perfect. Expensive but a great product. Sure that it can't be the best one out there but it's worth it's value.

If you look a few pages back for pics, same happened to my Speck. The corners broke off and I had to email Speck to avoid mailing my old one back in, their standard protocol and costly from Canada to Cali (Thx John!).
I just had to take pics with a name/date label beside it.

FWIW, I did not remove the case to make it break. I picked it up one day and the bottom felt loose. The one corner was bending off and eventually both broke off.

My setup:

Speck+$12 eBay sleeve+Brenthaven ProStyleII-XF, which was $50 during a Bestbuy sale.

I can't say enough for the bag, check reviews on Amazon. Professional looking enough if you wear suits, or if you go casual.

Looking for a slim and not super bulky backpack for a 13 rMBP

What are you guys using?
I think the best bag I've seen is the Incase Compact
Want a bag that is dedicated for a 13 and not a backpack that can fit 13-17 (doesn't seem like it would keep the laptop secure)

Any suggestions?
TIA

I'm really wanting a hard sleeve for use with my 13" MacBook Pro retina. I usually carry it around in my backpack at school and use it naked so I wanted some sort of hard sleeve. Any ideas?

I used to use a Built backpack. They no longer make it. http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/09/builts-laptop-backpack-keeps-your-files-close-peripherals-clos/

Perfect.

I gotta ask, why the trackpad film.. that takes away from the trackpad smoothness that makes macbook's trackpads so nice. Also it's made out of glass so I don't really see it deteriorating over time.

Lots of people like the buttery smoothness of the glass trackpad (and it reminds them of their iPhone and iPad). Personally, I don't. I've always liked some traction and grip on my trackpad, a la Titanium PowerBook and the original MacBook Air. (But, I didn't like the the bumpy texture of the 3400c. The clamshell iBook Special Edition was too slippery for my tastes.)

The Steinheil SPIGEN Matte static screen film was lowest price compared to Power Support and Moshi (with their ill fitting, sticky matte screen protector). And the Steinheil SPIGEN came with a trackpad film as an added bonus.

I've always installed antiglare films on my iPhone and iPad, so the matte trackpad film is quite familiar to me. It feels quite nice and repels skin oils from accumulating on the glass. I'm semi OCD, but I more like the feel of it.

The Speck is popular and pricy, but Poetic is known for some pretty nice iPad cases and makes a $10 shell that I'm really happy with. http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Crystal-MacBook-Retina-Display/dp/B00A04BLC2/

The Poetic is cheap and fits really well! http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Crystal-MacBook-Retina-Display/dp/B00A04BLC2/

I bought the Speck SmartShell Satin and I love it. It makes the rMBP a little heavier but still not as heavy as the cMBP.

I was actually thinking about getting this case. It looks like the bands are poorly designed. Looks like the search continues!

----------

Poetic. The foam feet feel cheapish, but for $10, it can't be beat. I like mine a ton! http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Crystal-MacBook-Retina-Display/dp/B00A04BLC2/

What are some good recommendations for a hard case for the 13" Retina?

----------

For my first generation MacBook Air in 2008, I bought a sleeve from Wrappers UK. When I returned back to them for another sleeve a few years later, they never fulfilled my order and took forever to respond back to me to issue a refund. So I *cautiously* recommend them.

While the sleeves are pretty pricy compared to sfbags.com's Waterfield Designs, the "Shiny soft metallic finish waterproof polyurethane" material they use is so unbelievably awesome. It's compact and slick and waterproof. I've never seen anything like it. It isn't listed as an option on the MacBook Pro with Retina page, but I'm sure they'll make it for you if you request it. http://wrappers.typepad.com/ipod/apple-macbook-pro-retina//

I'm reluctant to order from them since I'm in California, but since you're in the UK, you may have better luck. Otherwise, check out Waterfield's Suede Jacket or Smart Case: http://sfbags.com/products/macbookair-cases/macbookair-cases.php

Does anyone know a nice slim fit sleeve for my Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina? (I live in Europe, but if there isn't anything available here, I will consider importing). Went to the apple store and they said that I have to look online, but I can only find the big ugly Waterfield sleeves and muijo sleeves...

Thanks in advance!

See my above response regarding Wrappers UK and Waterfield Designs.
Anyone have any suggestions on nice sleeve for the 13" rMBP.

Burnoaa rMBP Case

Image
LINK HERE

I have this case version and like it a lot. Good snug fit designed for the retinia. Memory foam external padding under a very thick nylon cover so it easily slides into a backpack. You can type while in the case, handles and shoulder strap (a must), Several colors and options. Zippers are smooth and have a bead of the memory foam under to protect the MBP case from scratches. This case is very professional looking, my case version is blue and has a power cord/accessories attached pouch.

Hi. How are you getting on with this Burnoaa case? Thank you

Does anyone know a nice backpack that fits the 15" rMBP beautifully and still looks nice (and.. cool). I'm going to college soon and I need a nice backpack but can't seem to find one that doesn't look like ****.
Thanks in advance :)?
