Hey,

I ended up buying the iCarbons carbon fiber skin. And am going to use the Speck case with it. I think that would be your best protection, I don't really like wrapsol or bestskinsever as they both require wet applications. iCarbons use a 3M adhesive that apparently doesn't leave any residue. Its much cheaper option too for international purcahses.

I've heard good reviews with iCarbons. They are all over youtube and look good.
Hey dude,

Meh, not really into skins but it's an option. I just want to find a nice hard shell and there must be someone that has experience with those in here. Just wanted to hear their opinion. How did you manage things with Speck, btw?

Still waiting to hear back from Speck. Apparently they are going to inspect a case and make sure its in excellent condition before they send it. So waiting to hear for their reply...
Wow, pretty nice of them to do that. I noticed my Moshi iGlaze started cracking a bit on one of the curves. Now I'm waiting for the guys at the store to inspect it and conclude if it was mishandling or not (obviously it wasn't). Once I get my money back, I want to invest on another case and that's why I needed some opinions asap. The case was bad enough due to fitting issues as you know.. I didn't need it cracking -_-

Let me know once you get your case, please ;)

The issue with that case, is the screen doesn't close to a seal. Dust and particles will get in there and potentially scratch your screen. Also may possibly damage your hinge due to the bigger gap.

Are you speaking from experience or just by looking at the pics? Though I do see what you mean, just by looking at the pictures, no way that the MBP will close and get the same seal it gets now.

I didn't want to go for one of those hard shells for fear of scuffing or scratching the macbook pro when I want to remove it or put it on.

I already have a sleeve/case, but I wanted something I could have on the MBP while I'm actually using it.

I love my Incase Neoprene sleeve, Retina specific. Snug fit, fur on the inside, zipper protection and you can actually feel the MBP is secure.

I bought this, it was terrible. The metal zips would actually scrape against the left and right edges of the mbp whilst putting it in. even the photos show how close they are. I ended up going with the Thule Gauntlet 2.0 sleeve/case its amazing
Mine is amazing. Not a single issue and the zip protector actually works. And the overall quality of the sleeve is pretty good. I love it.

Yet I prefer the look of the Gauntlet 1.0 as it has this industrial je-ne-sais-quoi.

I'm looking for a basic protective sleeve for the 15" rmbp. Something without a zip but with a complete closure.

I've had a neoprene case in the past (no idea what the brand was) and liked the level of protection it gave but the zip rubbed against the computer, even with a protective cover.

Loving my turquoise color Speck case for my rMBP 13". It fits well and cover it well. It not blocking the ventilation.

I waiting for my old school look STM scout 2 bag to reach my house.

I just received the BookBook case from TwelveSouth yesterday. I initially wanted to just keep it in the case, but was worried about how it may not allow for proper ventilation on the sides. I was using a Cote et Ciel sleeve prior to receiving the BookBook, which was a neoprene sleeve like the Incase ones (albeit a bit nicer, as it has some material on the inside that protects the MBP from the zippers). The BookBook case, while the looks may not be for everyone, can actually function as a very nice sleeve (and, when necessary, function as a case as advertised). Plus, the materials feel very premium and I think the looks are overall really unique.

Just ordered a Kuzy Black case. We'll see how this goes -- I normally wouldn't bother with a case but this one is reasonably priced and the reviews seem to be OK.

Quick review - Overall I like this case. It fits very nicely, no issues with mismatched openings or loose fit. Everything snaps in and is snug. The one I bought (apparently they're available in different colors) is covered with black rubberized paint, which gives it a nice soft-touch feel. The only issue is that the paint job on mine had unsightly inconsistencies, especially around the edges where the paint didn't completely cover the plastic. I had to touch up those parts with a black Sharpie. Otherwise for $30 it's not a bad product.

TBH though I like the MBP completely naked. I might slip it into this case if I knew I was going on a long trip or vacation, otherwise for daily use and trips to and from the office I'll keep using my sleeve/messenger bag combo.

Here are some pics if you're interested in seeing how it looks:

Got a Waterfield Designs HardCase for my retina 15inch....

Would definitely recommend this bag if you are looking for a business bag which is slightly larger than a sleeve. Manage to put laptop, charger, mouse, and a few other bits in there.

Very cool bag, good quality too.
